Overview
When payments are collected through the Stripe integration in Dazos (via the client's Transactions tab), Dazos records the transaction in the CRM but does not automatically generate or email a receipt. Receipts are handled entirely by Stripe. This guide explains how to enable automatic receipt emails so your clients receive a receipt after every successful payment.
Before You Begin
You must have access to the Stripe dashboard associated with your Dazos account.
Payments must be collected through the Stripe integration in Dazos for this to apply.
Ensure the client's email address is captured at the time of payment so Stripe can send the receipt to the correct address.
How Receipts Work with the Dazos-Stripe Integration
Dazos and Stripe have distinct roles when a payment is processed:
Dazos records the transaction and updates the client's financial information within the CRM.
Stripe processes the payment and is responsible for sending receipt emails to clients.
If your clients have not been receiving receipts, it is most likely because Stripe's automatic receipt email feature is turned off in your Stripe account settings. This feature must be manually enabled.
Steps: Enable Automatic Receipt Emails in Stripe
Log in to Stripe — Go to dashboard.stripe.com and sign in to the Stripe account connected to your Dazos integration.
Go to Settings — Click the Settings option in the left-hand navigation menu.
Find Customer Emails — Within Settings, locate the Customer emails section.
Enable Receipts — Toggle on the option labeled "Email customers for successful payments."
Save your changes — Ensure you save before leaving the settings page.
Once enabled, Stripe will automatically send a receipt to the email address provided at the time of payment for every successful transaction going forward.
Optional: Customize Your Receipts with Branding
Stripe also allows you to personalize receipts with your organization's logo and brand colors. To do this, navigate to Settings → Branding in your Stripe dashboard and upload your logo and set your brand colors.
Verification / Expected Result
After enabling the setting, process a test payment (or wait for the next real payment) and confirm that the client receives an automated receipt email from Stripe at the email address provided during the transaction.
Troubleshooting / Common Issues
Receipt emails are enabled but clients still aren't receiving them — Confirm that a valid client email address was captured at the time of payment. If the email field was blank during the transaction, Stripe will have no address to send the receipt to.
Receipts were enabled but prior transactions did not generate receipts — This setting only applies to payments processed after the feature is enabled. Historical transactions will not trigger retroactive receipt emails.
Still experiencing issues after enabling the setting — Contact Dazos Support so we can investigate the Stripe connection on your account.
⚠️ Note: Dazos does not currently have a built-in receipt generation feature. Receipt delivery is managed entirely within your Stripe account settings. If you would like Dazos to natively generate receipts in the future, contact Dazos Support to log a feature request.
