Troubleshooting Alleva EMR Document Push Failures (CRM)

Overview This guide helps resolve document push failures when sending uploaded files from Dazos CRM to Alleva EMR.

Symptom / Error

When pushing a document from an intake opportunity to Alleva EMR, the system displays an error and the document fails to transfer to the patient's Alleva chart.

You may encounter:

  • Error messages during the document push process

  • Documents not appearing in the Alleva EMR system

  • Push operations that appear to complete but don't transfer files

Cause

Document push failures are typically caused by:

  • API connection issues between Dazos and Alleva

  • Authentication problems with the EMR integration

  • Integration configuration errors

  • Timeout issues during file transfer

Solution

Step 1 — Identify Error Messages and Status Codes

Check for specific error messages displayed during the push attempt. Note any status codes or detailed error information that appears in the interface.

Step 2 — Review Integration Logs

Access integration logs in both Dazos and Alleva (if available) to identify the specific failure point in the document transfer process.

Step 3 — Verify API Permissions and Connection Settings

Confirm that:

  • API credentials are current and valid

  • Integration permissions are properly configured

  • The connection between Dazos and Alleva is active

Step 4 — Test the EMR Connection

Perform a connection test with the Alleva EMR system to verify the integration is functioning properly.

Step 5 — Verify Successful Resolution

When the integration issue is resolved, successful document pushes return confirmation messages with specific record IDs (e.g., 'ID: 11611') confirming the transfer is complete.

Workaround

If documents continue to fail, use this temporary solution while the issue is being resolved:

  1. Download the files from Dazos CRM

  2. Manually import the documents into Alleva EMR

  3. Confirm the documents are properly associated with the correct patient record

⚠️ Note: This workaround should only be used temporarily while the integration issue is being investigated.

Escalation

Contact Dazos Support immediately if:

  • Document pushes continue to fail after basic troubleshooting

  • You cannot access integration logs to diagnose the issue

  • Multiple documents are failing simultaneously

  • The integration was working previously but has suddenly stopped

When contacting support, provide:

  • Specific error messages encountered

  • Screenshots of the failed push attempts

  • Number of documents affected

  • Your CRM instance URL
