You can now copy an existing module table's structure in one step instead of rebuilding it by hand. The new Clone Table option duplicates all of a table's columns — their labels, data types, picklist values, and required settings — into a brand-new table that you name. This is ideal when you need several tables with the same layout (for example, to match an EMR setup).

7. Frequently Asked Questions
1. Before You Start
You will need: access to the CRM Settings area and at least one existing module table to copy from.
Access requirements: the same access used to add or edit module table fields. There is no separate setting to switch on and no special permission to request.
If you do not see the Clone Table button, refresh the page. If it is still missing, contact Dazos support to confirm the feature is enabled for your instance.
2. Open Module Tables
From the CRM, go to Settings → Module Management → Module Tables. This opens the Manage Table Fields screen, where every module table can be selected and configured.
Control | Purpose |
Select Form dropdown | Lists every module table you can configure. |
+ Add | Creates a new, empty module table. |
Clone Table | Copies the structure of the table currently selected in the dropdown into a new table. |
3. Choose the Table to Copy
In the Select Form dropdown, pick the table whose structure you want to copy. Its columns load below, so you can confirm it is the right one before cloning.
Tip: Cloning copies the table's structure only — the columns and their settings — not any saved records. Pick the table that already has the column layout you want to reuse.
4. Clone the Table
Click Clone Table. A popup appears showing the source table you are copying from and a field for the new table's name.
1. Confirm the Source shown at the top is the table you intended to copy.
2. Type a name for the new table in New Module Table Name.
3. Click Save.
Important: The name must be unique and can contain letters, numbers, and spaces. If you choose a name that already belongs to another table, the system asks you to pick a different one. If you click Clone Table without selecting a table first, you are reminded to choose one.
5. Review the New Table
After you save, the page reloads with your new table already selected. Its columns match the original exactly — same labels, types, and required settings — ready for you to rename or fine-tune.
Tip: The new table starts empty of records. Add or adjust columns the same way you would on any module table, then Save.
6. What Gets Copied
Copied | Not copied |
Every column and its label | Saved records / row data |
Column data type (text, date, picklist, etc.) | Links or relationships to other modules |
Picklist values | — |
Required, read-only, and visibility settings | — |
Default values and descriptions | — |
Cloning never changes the original table. It creates a separate, independent copy that you can edit freely.
7. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does cloning copy the records (data) in the table? No. Only the structure — columns and their settings — is copied. The new table starts with no records.
Q: Are links to other modules carried over? No. The clone is a standalone table. Any relationships the original had are not copied.
Q: Can I rename the columns after cloning? Yes. Once the new table loads, edit any column label, type, or setting and click Save, exactly as you would on any module table.
Q: What happens if I enter a name that already exists? The system stops and asks you to choose a different name, so you can't accidentally overwrite or duplicate an existing table.
Q: Can I clone any table in the list? Yes. Any table available in the Select Form dropdown can be cloned, including the built-in ones.
Q: Does cloning affect the original table? No. The original is untouched; the clone is completely separate.
