Kipu Allergy Integration: Pull and Sync Patient Allergies into Dazos (CRM - Kipu integration)

Kipu Allergy Endpoint Integration Applies to: InsightsTx and AllevaCRM | Audience: Administrators and Care Team users

1. Overview

This feature lets your facility pull patient allergy information from Kipu into the CRM and display it on the patient's PreAssessment. A patient can have several allergies, so the information is stored as a repeating "Allergies" section (one entry per allergy) that shows details such as the allergen, allergy type, reaction, onset date, treatment, and status.

Once turned on, the system keeps the allergies up to date automatically and also includes them when a PreAssessment is sent back to Kipu - with no extra steps for the user.

Tip: Allergy information appears on the PreAssessment record that belongs to an Opportunity (the patient's record). If an Opportunity has no PreAssessment yet, allergies will not appear until one is created.

2. Who Can Use This and What You Need

Administrator: An administrator account is needed to turn the feature on and manage mappings. • EMR type: Your EMR type must be set to Kipu.

3. Turning On "Enable Allergies Pull"

Follow these steps to set up allergy pulling for your facility:

1. Go to Settings - Integrations - Kipu.

2. Find the "Enable Allergies Pull" toggle. It is located in the EMR Setting page for KIPU.

3. Switch the toggle ON and confirm the prompt.

4. Wait for the success message. The system automatically sets up the new "Allergies" section on the PreAssessment page, along with its fields and default Kipu field mappings.

Note: The "Enable Allergies Pull" toggle only appears when your EMR type is Kipu. If you do not see it, confirm your EMR integration is set to Kipu.

4. Where Allergies Appear

After the feature is enabled and the first sync runs, allergy information shows up here:

5. Open the patient's PreAssessment record.

6. On the PreAssessment detail page, find the new "Allergies" section.

Each allergy is shown as its own entry with details such as allergen, allergy type, reaction, reaction type, onset date, treatment, status, and source.

5. For Facilities That Already Had Allergies Mappings

Some facilities previously set up Allergies to point at the "Substances of Abuse" area. If that applies to you, your existing setup is protected - enabling this feature does not overwrite it.

7. Go to EMR Mapping and open the "Allergies" tab.

8. Review your existing mapping rows. They remain exactly as they were.

9. Re-point each row to the new Allergies fields (allergen, allergy type, reaction, and so on) when you are ready.

Note - This Mapping is flexible. The “Allergies” can be mapped to any Sub-Module-reference type block of either of the modules – Accounts, Intake Opportunities or Pre- Assessments. Upon clicking on Change Target Block button, user can select their desired Sub-Module-reference block and map the fields to that table.

Important: Until you re-point the old mappings to the new Allergies fields, allergies will continue to write to your previous location. Re-map them so the data lands in the new Allergies section.

6. How Allergies Stay Up to Date

Automatic sync: Allergies refresh automatically on the regular Kipu sync (hourly by default). You do not need to pull them manually.

Latest record: Allergies are attached to the patient's most recent PreAssessment.

No PreAssessment: If an Opportunity has no PreAssessment, allergy pulling is skipped for it. Create a PreAssessment and the next sync will fill in the allergies.

No duplicates: Re-running the sync updates existing entries in place - it does not create duplicates.

7. Sending Allergies to Kipu

When you send a PreAssessment to Kipu as an Evaluation Form, the allergies in the Allergies section are included automatically as part of the information sent. There are no extra steps and no separate button to press.

8. Turning Off "Enable Allergies Pull"

You can turn the feature off at any time:

10. Go to Settings - Integrations - Kipu.

11. Switch the "Enable Allergies Pull" toggle OFF.

Turning it off is non-destructive: the Allergies section and any allergy information already pulled remain in place. Only future pulling stops. Switching the toggle back ON resumes syncing.

9. Important Notes

Allergy entries are kept: If a Kipu administrator deletes a patient's allergy in Kipu, the entry stays in the CRM as a historical record. The system never removes allergy entries automatically. Any cleanup must be done manually. • Works with V3 and V4: Allergy pulling works with both Kipu V3 and V4 integrations. The system uses the correct Kipu endpoint for your version automatically.

Active allergies: The feature only lists active allergies from Kipu.
