1. Before You Start
You will need:
Access to the CRM Settings area (administrator or power-user access).
A module and picklist field you want to review or edit (for example, Intake Opportunities → Sales Stage).
Access requirements: The warnings appear automatically for anyone who can open the Picklist Field Values screen. There is nothing to turn on and no extra permission to request.
If you open a picklist and expect a warning but don't see one, it simply means that picklist isn't connected to any dependency or rule — there is nothing at risk for that field. If you believe a connection exists but no banner shows, contact Dazos support so they can review the configuration for your instance.
2. Open the Picklist Field Values Screen
From the CRM, navigate to Settings → Module Management → Picklist Field Values. Then:
1. Choose a module from the first dropdown (for example, Intake Opportunities).
2. Choose a picklist field from the second dropdown (for example, Sales Stage).
If the field you selected is connected to other picklists or rules, one or both warning banners appear above the list of values.
Tip: Fields that aren't connected to anything show no banner — so when you do see one, it's worth a quick look before changing values.
3. The Picklist Dependency Warning
This yellow banner appears when the picklist controls, or is controlled by, another picklist's available options (a Picklist Dependency).
The banner tells you the direction of the relationship:

Each related field appears as a clickable chip. Use the banner like this:
1. Click a field-name chip to open that specific dependency for editing.
2. Or click Manage Picklist Dependencies to open the full list of dependencies for the module.
Important: Adding or removing a value without updating the dependency mapping can cause options to disappear for users. Review the linked dependency whenever you change values on a connected picklist.
4. The Field Dependency Warning
This blue banner appears when the picklist's values are used as a condition in Field Dependency rules — rules that show, hide, or require other fields depending on what a user selects.

Affects fields | Lists the fields whose behavior (shown, hidden, or required) is driven by rules that use this picklist. |
Manage Field Dependencies | Opens the Field Dependencies editor for the module so you can review or adjust those rules. |
Important: These rules match on specific values of the picklist. If you rename or remove a value that a rule relies on, the rule can quietly stop working — leaving fields shown, hidden, or required incorrectly during data entry. Review the rules before changing such values.
Tip: Both banners open their links in a new browser tab, so you won't lose your place while editing picklist values.
5. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to enable these warnings? No. They appear automatically whenever you select a picklist that is connected to a dependency or a rule. There is no setup.
Q: What's the difference between the two banners? The Picklist Dependency (yellow) banner is about which options are available in another picklist. The Field Dependency (blue) banner is about whether other fields are shown, hidden, or required. They are two separate systems, so you may see one, both, or neither.
Q: A picklist I'm editing shows no banner. Is that a problem? No — it means that field isn't tied to any dependency or rule, so your changes carry no hidden side effects.
Q: Can I still add, rename, or delete values when a banner is showing? Yes. The banner is only a heads-up. Just review the linked dependency or rule afterward to make sure it still points at valid values.
Q: Why does clicking a link open a new tab? So you can review or fix the connected dependency without losing the picklist screen you were working on.
Q: The listed field names look technical. What are they? The banners show the field's display label. If a label looks unfamiliar, open the linked dependency or rule to see it in full context.
