Setting Up Picklist Dependencies in Dazos (CRM)

This article explains how to setup Picklist Dependencies.

Updated over 3 months ago

In Dazos CRM, picklist dependencies are a powerful feature that allows you to control which values appear in one picklist field based on the selection made in another field (e.g., a Sales Stage). This functionality is crucial for streamlining data entry, ensuring data consistency, and presenting users with only the most relevant options for specific scenarios within your workflows. By implementing dependencies, you can significantly improve user experience and data accuracy across your Dazos instance.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Picklist Dependencies:

Navigate to Field Dependencies, from your Dazos CRM Home screen, click on "Settings." Then, select "CRM Settings." Next, choose "Module Management." Click on "Module Layouts and Fields." Finally, select "Field Dependencies." Add a New Dependency:

On the Field Dependencies page, locate and click the button to "Add" a new dependency (the exact button name might vary slightly but will be for adding a new rule).

Title: Give your dependency a clear and descriptive title (e.g., "Show Finalization Date based on Out Clause").

Target Fields and Actions: This is where you define which picklist field's options will change, and how they will change (e.g., showing or hiding specific values). Select the field that needs to be affected by the dependency.

Conditions: Set the rules that will trigger the dependency. This involves selecting the controlling field (e.g., "Sales Stage") and specifying the value(s) that must be selected in that field for the dependency to activate. Ensure these conditions align precisely with the instance's requirements.

Save Your Dependency. Once you have configured the Title, Target Fields and Actions, and all necessary Conditions, click "Save" to apply your new picklist dependency.

Test the Dependency (Crucial Step):

Always test your changes before informing the instance. This ensures that everything is working as expected.

Go to a relevant profile (e.g., a Lead, Opportunity, or Account) where the dependent fields are located.

Update the controlling field (e.g., change the "Sales Stage" to trigger the condition you set).

Navigate to the details section of that profile to verify if the dependent picklist field's options have updated accordingly.
