Before You Begin
You must have a CRM Administrator role with access to Settings → CRM Settings → Module Management → Module Layouts & Fields.
This behavior applies across all modules that use the Layout Editor — no additional configuration is required
The Save Layout button will not appear until you have made at least one change to the layout — this is by design
Steps
Step 1 — Open the Module Layout Editor
Navigate to Settings → CRM Settings → Module Management → Module Layouts & Fields
Select the module you want to edit from the Select Module dropdown (e.g. Accounts, Bedboards, Call Logs)

Expected: The Save Layout button is not visible when you first open the editor. This is correct behavior — the button only appears after a change is made.
Step 2 — Make a Layout Change
Drag and drop any field or block to a new position within the layout
Any layout change — moving a field, reordering a block, or updating a section — will trigger the button to appear
Expected: The Save Layout button appears immediately after your first change. It displays as a single-line label and does not wrap or truncate across any module.
Step 3 — Confirm the Floating Behavior
After making a change, scroll down through the layout
Observe that the Save Layout button remains visible and fixed on screen as you scroll — it does not disappear as it moves off the top of the page
Expected: The button floats and stays visible at all times after a change has been made, regardless of scroll position.
Step 4 — Scroll Through the Full Layout
Continue scrolling to the bottom of the layout and through any additional sections
Confirm the button remains accessible and does not overlap or obscure any UI elements, field labels, or controls
Expected: The button remains accessible throughout the entire layout without interfering with any fields, dropdowns, or action controls.
Step 5 — Save Your Changes
Click Save Layout when you are ready to apply your changes
The CRM saves the updated layout for that module
Expected: Changes are saved successfully. The Save Layout button disappears after saving, since there are no longer any unsaved changes to commit.
Step 6 — Verify Consistent Behavior Across Modules
Use the Select Module dropdown to switch to a different module (e.g. switch from Accounts to Bedboards, then to Call Logs)
Make a layout change in each module
Confirm that the floating button appears, stays visible while scrolling, and displays the same single-line label in each module
Expected: The button behaves identically across all modules — same appearance, same floating behavior, same single-line label format.
Verification / Expected Result
Once you have made a layout change in any module, the following behavior confirms the feature is working correctly:
The Save Layout button is not visible when the editor first opens — no unsaved changes exist yet
The button appears immediately after the first drag-and-drop or layout modification
The button floats and remains visible at a fixed screen position as you scroll through any length of layout
The button label displays on a single line without wrapping or truncating, regardless of module
After clicking Save Layout, the button disappears until the next change is made
Behavior is consistent across all modules in the Layout Editor
Tips & Notes
The button is intentionally hidden on load. When you open the Layout Editor without making any changes, the absence of the Save Layout button is expected behavior — not a bug. It only appears when there is something unsaved to commit.
Switching modules resets the state. If you switch to a different module using the Select Module dropdown without saving, any unsaved changes to the previous module will be lost. Always click Save Layout before switching modules.
No configuration required. This is a UI improvement that applies automatically to all instances — there are no settings to enable or toggle.
Troubleshooting / Common Errors
