Before You Begin
You will need:
Recycle Bin access — administrators have this by default; other roles need it granted.
Delete permission on the record's module — restoring a comment uses the same permission as deleting one.
A Lead, Account, or Intake Opportunity record with a Comments section, found in the right-hand panel.
💡 Tip: If you don't see the Recycle Bin or the Comments bucket, contact your administrator or Dazos support to confirm your access.

Steps
Delete a Comment (Now Recoverable)
Open the record and find the comment in the Comments section.
Delete the comment as usual and confirm.
The comment disappears from the record — it's now in the Recycle Bin, not gone for good.
Find Deleted Comments in the Recycle Bin
Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Recycle Bin.
In the module list on the side, choose Comments.
Each deleted comment is listed with its text, the record it belonged to (Related To), and the date and time it was deleted.
What each column shows:
Column / Control | Meaning |
Comment | A preview of the deleted comment's text. |
Related To | The record (e.g. the Lead or Account) the comment was on. |
Modified Time | When the comment was deleted. |
Restore icon | Brings the comment back to its original record. |
Delete icon | Removes the comment permanently (cannot be undone). |
Export | Downloads the listed comments as a spreadsheet (CSV). |
Restore a Deleted Comment
In the Comments bucket, find the comment you want to bring back.
Click the Restore icon on that row and confirm.
The comment returns to its original record with its original text, author, and timestamp, and reappears in that record's Comments section.
💡 Tip: After restoring, open the original record's Comments section to confirm the comment is back.
Export Comments from the Recycle Bin
In the Comments bucket, click Export.
Choose what to export: selected rows, the current page, or all data.
Click Export Comments to download a spreadsheet (CSV) of the deleted comments.
Permanently Remove Comments
To remove a comment for good, use the Delete (trash) icon on its row.
Administrators can use Empty Recycle Bin to clear everything at once.
⚠️ Warning: Permanently deleted comments cannot be recovered.
Verification / Expected Result
A restored comment reappears in its original record's Comments section with the correct text, author, and timestamp.
An exported file downloads as a CSV containing the comments you selected.
A permanently deleted comment no longer appears anywhere, including the Recycle Bin.
Troubleshooting / Common Errors
Q: Where do deleted comments go now? To the Recycle Bin, under the "Comments" bucket.
Q: Will restoring put the comment back on the right record? Yes — it returns to the same record it was on, with its original text, author, and timestamp.
Q: Can standard users restore comments? Yes, if they have Recycle Bin access and the delete permission for that record's module.
Q: Does the record's history show the restore? The record shows the comment activity; a dedicated "deleted / restored" history line for comments is a possible future enhancement.
Need Help?
Open Settings → CRM Settings → Recycle Bin and select the Comments bucket.
Confirm you have Recycle Bin access for the relevant module.
Contact Dazos support and reference CRM-3277 if a comment does not appear or cannot be restored.
