Per-Announcement "Hide Do Not Show Again" Checkbox Setting (CRM)

Announcements can now be configured so reps can't permanently dismiss them. When enabled for an announcement, it reappears on every login until it expires or an administrator deletes it — ideal for recurring reminders like past-due billing notices.

1. Before You Start

You will need:

  • Administrator access to the CRM Settings area

  • An existing announcement, or the intent to create a new one

Access requirements: This setting is available to any user with access to Settings → Announcements. No additional feature flag or instance setting is required.

If you don't see the Announcements option under Settings, contact Dazos support to confirm your role has access to that area.

2. Open Announcement Settings

From the CRM, navigate to Settings → Announcement.

From here you can open an existing announcement to edit it, or create a new one. Both the create and edit forms include the new setting described below.

3. Configure the Setting

Open (or create) an announcement to see the new Hide "Do Not Show Again" checkbox toggle, located just below the Announcement Date Range field.

Hide "Do Not

Show Again"

checkbox

When turned ON, reps no longer see the option to permanently dismiss this announcement. It closes for the session only and reappears on their next login. When OFF (default), today's behavior is unchanged — reps can permanently dismiss the announcement.

Toggle ON for

recurring

reminders

  1. Fill in the announcement as usual (Title, Groups, Roles, Date Range, Content).

  2. Turn the Hide "Do Not Show Again" checkbox toggle ON if this announcement must keep reappearing until it expires or is deleted. Leave it OFF to allow reps to dismiss it permanently, as before.

  3. Click Save.

Tip: If you turn this setting ON for an announcement that some reps had already dismissed, it will start appearing again for those reps the next time they log in.

4. How It Works

  • The setting is stored per announcement — each one keeps its own behavior independently.

  • Turning it ON does not delete any prior dismissal records; it only ignores them while the setting stays ON. Turning it back OFF restores the previous dismissals, so reps who already dismissed it before won't see it again.

  • Reps who see a reminder-type announcement can still close it, but it returns at their next login — there's no way for them to silence it permanently while the setting is ON.

5. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will reps who already dismissed an announcement see it again if I turn this setting ON? Yes. Turning the setting ON overrides any prior dismissal, so the announcement reappears for everyone in its audience on their next login.

Q: What happens if I turn the setting back OFF later? Reps who had dismissed the announcement before will not see it again — their original dismissal is restored.

Q: Does this affect existing announcements that I don't edit? No. The setting defaults to OFF, so any announcement you don't explicitly change keeps behaving exactly as it did before.

Q: Can reps still close the announcement if the setting is ON? Yes. Closing it only hides it until their next login — it isn't a permanent dismissal.

Q: Does this apply to the single-line banner announcement or the customer portal? No. Those are separate systems and are not affected by this setting.

Need Help?

If you run into issues:

  1. Confirm the toggle was saved by reopening the announcement and checking its state.

  2. Confirm the announcement's date range covers the current date — expired or not-yet-started announcements won't display regardless of this setting.

  3. Contact Dazos support with the announcement name and reference CRM-3404.
