This article answers questions on viewing full comment threads in records.

Dazos CRM

Question:

Is there a setting to automatically display the entire comment thread on a record, instead of clicking “1 Reply” to view replies?

Environment:

  • Module Affected: Record Comments Section

  • Feature: Comment Thread Display

  • User Type: Admin and Non-Admin

  • Common Scenario: Users reviewing historical communication or collaborative notes on CRM records

Summary of the Issue:

By default, Dazos CRM only displays the latest comment on a record. To view all replies in a comment thread, users must manually click the “x Reply” link to expand the full discussion.

Some customers have requested an option to automatically display all comment threads, so they can see the entire conversation at once without expanding individual threads.

Root Cause / System Design:

This behavior is intentional and designed to:

  • Improve page load speed, especially for records with large comment histories.

  • Maintain cleaner visual layouts, preventing long comment threads from overwhelming the user interface.

At this time, there is no configuration or user setting available to automatically expand all comment threads.

Resolution / Current Behavior:

  • To view all replies, click the “x Reply” link under a comment to expand the full thread.

  • This must be done per thread and cannot be toggled globally.

  • The feature ensures optimized performance across all CRM record views.

User Case / Example Scenario:

A customer reviewing detailed case notes on a patient record requested that all comments appear expanded by default for easier reading.
However, since this feature is not currently supported, they were advised to manually expand threads as needed or submit a feature request for consideration in a future release.

Additional Notes:

  • The behavior is working as designed and not classified as a defect.

  • A request to automatically display full comment threads can be logged as a feature enhancement for the development roadmap.

  • Heavy use of comments may affect record loading performance, which is a key reason this design was implemented.
