Question:

Is there a setting that makes the left sidebar collapse until hovered over? A customer reported that their sidebar auto-collapses and wants it to always show.

Summary of the Issue:

Some users report that the left sidebar (main navigation panel) automatically collapses and only expands when hovered over. This can cause confusion if a user expects the sidebar to remain visible at all times.

The behavior is user-specific, not system-wide, and can be toggled manually within the interface.


Root Cause:

There is no global system setting that controls sidebar collapse behavior across all users. Instead, the sidebar display preference is managed per user and can be changed directly via the CRM interface.


Resolution / Steps to Fix:

To manually switch between Pinned Mode and Hover Mode:

  1. Locate the Sidebar Toggle Icon

    • Find the three-line (hamburger) icon at the top-left corner of the CRM interface.

  2. Pin the Sidebar (Keep Visible)

    • Click the icon once to pin the sidebar in place.

    • The sidebar will now remain permanently visible, even when navigating between modules.

  3. Enable Hover Mode (Auto-Collapse)

    • Click the same icon again to revert to hover mode, which collapses the sidebar until hovered over.

This setting is stored in the user’s local session, meaning it will only apply to the current user, not to others in the organization.


User Case / Example Scenario:

A customer’s administrator reported that the CRM sidebar kept auto-collapsing, making navigation difficult for users unfamiliar with the hover feature.


After confirming that no global setting existed, the admin guided users to click the sidebar toggle icon to pin the panel open, restoring their expected interface experience.


Additional Notes:

  • This functionality is standard UI behavior within Dazos CRM and does not require configuration changes.

  • If the sidebar fails to stay pinned after clicking the icon, the issue could be related to browser caching or cookies. In such cases, clearing cache or refreshing the browser usually resolves it.

  • This setting is saved per browser and user, not at the instance level.
