Troubleshooting Standard Fields That Do Not Hide in Dazos (CRM)

This article provides the steps to properly hide fields when the default method doesn’t work.

Updated over 3 months ago

Overview

Sometimes, standard fields in CRM modules do not hide even after selecting the Hide checkbox.

Symptom / Error
• Standard fields remain visible after selecting Hide.
• The trash icon is missing, so the field cannot be deleted.

Cause

Certain standard fields are protected because they are critical for integrations and cannot be hidden or removed. Other fields, however, may be hidden by moving them into a block that is already set to hidden.

Solution

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and properly hide these fields.

  1. Log in to Your Instance: Navigate to your CRM instance login link and sign in.

2. Access Settings: From the left-hand panel, click Settings.

3. Open Module Management: Then select CRM Settings.

4. Click "Module Management"

5. Choose Module Layouts & Fields: Click "Module Layouts & Fields"

6. From the dropdown menu, select the module you want to modify (e.g., Intake Opportunities).

7. For example, we will use "Intake Opportunities" to edit and modify, and attempt to hide a standard field. (Most of them do not have a trash icon next to it).

NOTE: Some fields have the hide option blocked because they are critical for different integrations within the CRM; therefore, they cannot be hidden or removed. This step does not apply to those types of fields.

8. Click "Edit", from the top corner.

9. Click the hide checkbox.

10. Click "Save"

11. Click this image, which is used to drag or move the required field from one block to another. Make sure to move the field into a block that is already completely hidden.

12. Click "Save Layout"

The field should now be hidden from view, even if the checkbox alone didn’t work.

Verification / Expected Result
• The selected field no longer appears in the module layout.
• Fields that are required for integrations remain visible, as they cannot be hidden.

Escalation

If the field cannot be moved or still appears after following these steps, it is likely a mandatory field tied to system integrations.
