How to stop CTM/CallRail Caller ID from populating or overwriting City, State, and Zip fields (CRM)

When a call comes in through CTM or CallRail, the integration can automatically populate the City, State, and Zip fields on a Lead or Account using Caller ID data.

The fix is to unmap those fields in the VOIP integration so Caller ID never writes to them in the first place.

Before You Begin

  • You must have Admin access to Dazos CRM to edit VOIP field mappings.

  • This applies to both CTM (Call Tracking Metrics) and CallRail VOIP integrations.

Steps

  1. Log in to your Dazos CRM.

  2. Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Integration → VOIP Settings.

  1. Open Map Calling Fields (the Lead Fields mapping screen).

  1. Locate the mappings for City, State, and Zip.

  1. Remove or leave those fields unmapped.

  2. Click Save.

Verification / Expected Result

Once unmapped, incoming calls will no longer push Caller ID location data into City, State, and Zip.

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

  • ⚠️ Making fields Read-Only does NOT solve this. Setting City, State, or Zip to Read-Only in Module Layouts only prevents agents from manually editing them — it does not stop the VOIP integration from writing to them.

  • ⚠️ This change is not retroactive. Existing records that already have Caller ID address data will need to be manually corrected if needed.
