How Assigned To Field Auto-Population Works in Dazos (CRM)

The Assigned To field in Dazos CRM automatically populates to the logged-in user when creating new records manually across all CRM modules. This is the default behavior for manual record creation.

When Auto-Population Occurs

The Assigned To field automatically fills with the logged-in user's name when:

  • Creating any new record manually in CRM modules (Opportunities, Contacts, Companies, etc.)

  • The user is logged in and creating the record through the CRM interface

Custom Owner Fields

You can also set up custom owner fields (like "Admissions Rep" or "BD Rep") to automatically populate with the logged-in user.

This works for any User/Group type field in your CRM.

Setting Up Custom Owner Field Auto-Population

  1. Navigate to your module's Module Fields & Layout settings

  2. Find your custom owner field (must be an Owner field type)

  3. Enable the "Default to Logged In User" setting

Webforms and Webhooks

For records created via webforms or webhooks, you can override the default auto-population behavior by:

  • Setting a specific default "Assigned To" user

  • Configuring Round Robin distribution for incoming form submissions

Why This Matters

This auto-population feature helps with:

  • Tracking which rep created each opportunity or record

  • Maintaining accountability and ownership

  • Streamlining the record creation process
