When This Matters
This configuration is important when:
You want calls to a specific number to create leads in Dazos CRM
You're troubleshooting missing leads from phone calls
You're setting up new numbers for marketing campaigns
You need to track the effectiveness of different phone numbers
The Key Difference
Tracking Numbers
Configured to capture call data and automatically create lead records in Dazos CRM.
Create new lead records for incoming calls
Capture caller ID, duration, and call recordings
Track marketing campaign effectiveness
Provide detailed analytics on call sources
Routing Numbers
Used for call forwarding and distribution β do not generate lead records in Dazos CRM.
Forward calls to designated numbers or extensions
Distribute calls among team members
Manage call flow without creating CRM records
Converting from Routing to Tracking
If you need a routing number to also capture leads, you can add it as a tracking number in CallRail. Before doing so, note that:
If the number is currently used for routing, you may need to update the routing destination to avoid call loops
A number can function as both routing and tracking if configured properly
All changes should be tested to confirm calls flow correctly
Tips & Notes
π‘ Tip: For numbers receiving calls from potential customers or marketing campaigns, always configure them as tracking numbers to ensure lead capture.
β οΈ Warning: Use caution when modifying routing settings on active phone numbers to avoid disrupting existing call flow.
β Best Practice: Test new configurations with a sample call to verify both call routing and lead creation work as expected.
