Understanding SMS/MMS Template Capabilities
This FAQ answers common questions about adding images and links to iCampaign SMS and MMS campaigns, including how they differ from email templates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can MMS images be clickable and redirect to a URL?
No. Images in iCampaign SMS/MMS campaigns cannot contain clickable links. Images work as attachments only and do not support embedded URLs or click-through.
How do I add links to SMS/MMS campaigns?
Include the link directly in the message text. Paste your URL into the Message body text field when creating your SMS template.
Can I add buttons or other clickable elements to SMS campaigns?
No. SMS templates in iCampaign only have a single Message body text field. Buttons, clickable elements, and the drag and drop editor are only available for email templates.
What is the difference between the SMS and email template editors?
Email templates: a full drag and drop editor with images, buttons, and clickable elements.
SMS templates: only a Message body text field, with no additional elements or design options.
How should I set up an SMS/MMS campaign with both an image and a link?
Add your image as an MMS attachment. It will display, but it won't be clickable.
Include your URL directly in the message text.
Keep the message under 160 characters when possible to avoid it being split into multiple SMS segments.
Important Notes
⚠️ Key limitation: Unlike email campaigns, SMS/MMS campaigns cannot use interactive elements like clickable images or buttons.
💡 Best practice: Always put important links in the message text instead of relying on the image.
