How Dynamic Segments Work
Segments in iCampaign are not static lists. Instead, they are built using specific conditions or criteria that subscribers must meet. When you send a campaign, iCampaign evaluates each subscriber against the segment conditions at the time of send.
This means the segment will always include the most up-to-date list of contacts who meet your defined criteria.

Why "Removed" Contacts Still Receive Emails
If contacts you thought were removed still received your campaign, it's likely because they weren't actually removed from the system. There are two different ways to "remove" contacts, and only one will prevent them from receiving future emails:
β
Removing from Segment vs. Deleting Subscribers
Removing from segment list view: This does not actually remove the contact from future sends. If the subscriber still meets the segment conditions, they will be included in the next campaign.
Deleting the subscriber record: This permanently removes the contact from iCampaign and prevents them from receiving any future emails.
Changing field values: Updating contact information so they no longer meet the segment conditions will exclude them from future sends to that segment.
How to Truly Remove Contacts from Campaign Sends
To ensure contacts don't receive future campaign emails, you must:
Delete the subscriber record from your iCampaign Subscribers list, OR
Update their field values so they no longer meet the segment conditions
Simply removing them from the segment list view will not prevent them from being included in future sends if they still match the segment criteria.

Best Practices
π‘ Tip: Before sending a campaign, review your segment conditions to ensure they accurately reflect your target audience.
β οΈ Warning: Always double-check that unwanted contacts (like internal IT contacts or test emails) are properly deleted from your subscriber list, not just removed from the segment view.
