How to Remove Bounced Subscribers from iCampaign Segments

Overview iCampaign does not automatically remove subscribers from segments when emails bounce. You'll need to manually identify bounced subscribers in Mandrill and remove them from your segments.

How to Remove Bounced Subscribers

Step 1 — Identify Bounced Subscribers in Mandrill

  1. Log into your Mandrill account

  2. Navigate to Outbound → Activity

  3. Search for the email addresses from your campaign

  4. Look for subscribers with status Bounced or Rejected

Step 2 — Remove Subscribers from iCampaign

Choose one of the following options depending on your needs:


Option A — Delete Subscribers Completely

  1. In iCampaign, go to your subscriber list

  2. Find the bounced subscribers

  3. Select them and choose the Delete option

  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Option B — Remove from Segment Only

  1. Go to your segment settings in iCampaign

  2. Edit the segment's membership

  3. Remove the bounced subscribers from the segment without deleting them entirely

Important Notes

⚠️ Warning: Deletions are permanent — double-check before confirming subscriber deletions.

⚠️ Note: iCampaign workflows cannot automate this process. Bounce status from Mandrill cannot be used as a workflow condition, making this a manual process.

💡 Tip: If the bounce reason is "Denylist", you may need to remove the subscriber from the denylist to resolve future sends, but this will not automatically remove them from your segment.
