Why iCampaign Subscribers Keep Syncing After Deletion or Workflows Are Turned Off (iCampaign)

Overview This guide explains why subscribers may continue to sync into iCampaign even after being deleted, or after iCampaign workflows have been turned off — and how to fully stop the sync.

Problem

You deleted all subscribers from iCampaign, or turned off your iCampaign workflows, but subscribers continue to re-sync and reappear in your subscriber list. Even with no active workflows, records are still being pushed into iCampaign from the CRM.

Possible Causes

  • Active module field mappings in CRM Settings: The most common cause. If field/module mappings are still configured under CRM Settings → Integration → iCampaign, those mappings will push records to iCampaign in real time — completely independent of whether any workflows are active.

  • Workflows turned off but mappings left in place: Turning off or deleting iCampaign workflows alone is not sufficient to stop a sync. The module mappings in CRM Settings operate separately from workflows and will continue syncing records as long as they remain active.

Solution

  1. Navigate to CRM Settings: In your CRM, go to Settings → CRM Settings.

  2. Open the Integration section: In the right-hand navigation, locate and click Integration.

  3. Find the iCampaign module mapping section: Look for the iCampaign module mapping or field mapping configuration area.

  4. Clear or disable the active mappings: Remove or disable any active field/module mappings that are pushing records to iCampaign. This is the step that fully stops the sync.

  5. Verify the sync has stopped: After clearing the mappings, monitor your iCampaign subscriber list to confirm that no new records are being pushed in.

Important Notes

⚠️ Turning off workflows is not enough. iCampaign workflows and CRM module mappings are two separate mechanisms. Active mappings in CRM Settings push records to iCampaign in real time regardless of workflow status. To completely stop subscribers from syncing, you must clear or disable the module mappings in CRM Settings — not just deactivate workflows.

💡 Tip: If you want to start fresh with your iCampaign subscriber list, clear the module mappings first to stop new records from syncing in, then delete the existing subscribers. This prevents records from re-appearing immediately after deletion.
