Symptom/Error
You've added a new value to a picklist field in Settings (such as "Deceased" to the Unqualified Reason picklist), but when you try to select it in a record:
The value doesn't appear in the dropdown menu
Searching for the value returns "No matches found"
The value is visible in Picklist settings but not available to users
This issue persists even after refreshing the page or logging out and back in.
Cause
The value was added to the picklist but not enabled in the picklist dependency settings. Even though the value exists, it's not checked/enabled in the dependency list, making it invisible to users.
Solution
Follow these steps to enable the picklist value in the dependency settings:
Navigate to Settings → Module Management → Picklist Fields Values
Find and select the relevant picklist field (e.g., Unqualified Reason)
Locate the value you added in the picklist values section (e.g. Deceased)
Look for the Picklist dependency
Enable the Check mark next to your new value in the dependency list
Save the changes
Navigate to a record and test that the value now appears in the dropdown
Verification
After enabling the value in dependencies:
The value should appear in the dropdown menus when editing records
Searching for the value should return the expected result
Users can successfully select and save the value
When to Contact Support
Contact support if:
The value still doesn't appear after enabling it in dependencies
You cannot find the dependency settings for your picklist field
The issue affects multiple picklist fields or values
