Symptom/Error
Users experience the following login issues:
Receive 'invalid credentials' error message when attempting to log in
Password reset attempts fail or don't resolve the login issue
Multiple password reset attempts still result in login failure
Error persists despite following standard password reset procedures
Cause
When users receive 'invalid credentials' errors even after successful password resets, this typically indicates that the user account does not exist in the Dazos CRM system. The password reset process may appear to work, but authentication fails because there is no user record in the system to authenticate against.
Solution
Follow these steps to resolve this issue:
Step 1: Verify Account Existence
Internal administrators should check if the user account exists in the system:
Navigate to Settings → Manage Users
Search for the user by name or email address
Check both the Active Users and Inactive Users tabs
If the user is not found in either location, the account does not exist
Step 2: Contact Internal Administrator
Users experiencing this issue should:
Contact their internal administrator or manager
Request verification of their account status in the Dazos system
Provide their full name and email address for account lookup
Ask the administrator to create a new user account if none exists
Step 3: Account Creation (For Administrators)
If the user account doesn't exist, administrators can create it by:
Going to Settings → Manage Users
Clicking Add New User
Entering the user's information and assigning appropriate permissions
Saving the new user account
Step 4: Initial Login Setup
After account creation:
The administrator should send a password reset link to the new user
The user should check their email (including spam folder) for the reset link
Follow the password reset process to set their initial password
Attempt login with the newly created credentials
Expected Result
After the user account is created in the system:
Password reset emails will function correctly
Users can successfully set their password
Login attempts will succeed with valid credentials
No more 'invalid credentials' errors will occur
