Field visibility permissions - Profile and Field-Level Security settings (CRM)

This guide shows you how to control which fields and sections are visible to different users in Dazos. Field visibility is managed through profile-level permissions, allowing you to customize what each user role can see and access.

Before You Begin

You'll need administrative access to your Dazos instance to modify profile permissions and Field-Level Security settings.

Steps

  1. Navigate to User Management
Go to Settings > User Management > Profiles

  2. Select the Profile to Modify
Choose the specific profile assigned to the users who need access (for example, the profile that Kevin, Alicia, Sophie, or Lauren are assigned to)

  3. Access Field-Level Security
Within the selected profile, locate the Field-Level Security section

  4. Enable Section Visibility
Find the section you want to make visible (such as "Substance Use") and mark it as Visible

  5. Save Changes
Apply your changes to update the profile permissions

  6. Ask Users to Refresh
Have affected users refresh their browser page to see the newly visible sections

Expected Result

Users assigned to the updated profile will now be able to see the previously hidden sections and fields. The changes take effect immediately after users refresh their page.

šŸ’” Pro Tip

When new sections or fields are added to layouts, they must be manually enabled for each profile. Users with higher-permission profiles may see new sections automatically, while others will need their profile permissions updated.

āš ļø Important Note

Always verify that users are assigned to the correct profile before adjusting Field-Level Security settings. Different profiles may have different visibility requirements based on user roles and responsibilities.
