Canadian Mobile Carriers for Text Notifications (CRM)

This update adds three Canadian carriers — Bell, Rogers, and Fido — to the Mobile Carrier list, so Canadian team members can now receive the same real-time text alerts that U.S. users already get.

1. Before You Start

You will need:

Administrator access to User Management (to edit other users), or access to your own My Preferences profile.

The team member's 10-digit mobile number and the name of their mobile carrier (Bell, Rogers, or Fido).

Access requirements: Editing another person's profile requires an admin role. Any user can update their own profile from My Preferences.

If the Canadian carriers do not appear in the Mobile Carrier list, the update may not yet be active on your instance — contact Dazos support to have it enabled.

2. Open the User's Profile

From the CRM, go to Settings → User Management → Users, then open the person you want to set up and click Edit. (To set up your own alerts instead, open My Preferences.)

Scroll down to the More Information section, where the phone and carrier fields live.

3. Choose a Canadian Mobile Carrier

1. In Mobile Phone, enter the team member's 10-digit mobile number.

2. Open the Mobile Carrier dropdown and pick the option that matches their carrier. The three Canadian carriers appear at the end of the list:

Carrier Choose this option

Bell txt.bell.ca

Rogers pcs.rogers.com

Fido fido.ca

The small label to the left of the dropdown shows the number with an @ after it (for example 4165551234@ ) — this previews the text-gateway address the alert will be sent to. The existing U.S. carriers remain available and unchanged.

Tip: Pick the carrier that actually provides the phone's service. Choosing the wrong carrier means the text won't be delivered, even though the number is correct.

4. Turn On Text Notifications

1. Tick the System Text Notifications checkbox.

2. Click Save.

Important: Once System Text Notifications is enabled, both Mobile Phone and Mobile Carrier become required — the profile won't save until both are filled in.

That's it. The user will now receive a text message when they're tagged or replied to in a record comment, the same way U.S. users do.

5. How Text Alerts Are Delivered

Text alerts are not sent through a separate SMS service — they're delivered as an email to the carrier's email-to-text gateway, which the carrier converts into a text message on the phone. The address is built automatically from the two fields you set:

You enter Result Mobile Phone 4165551234 + Carrier txt.bell.ca

Alert is sent to [email protected] , delivered as a text

Because delivery depends on the carrier's gateway, it's worth doing one real test (see the FAQ) after setup.

6. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I turn text alerts off for someone? Open their profile, un-tick System Text Notifications, and Save. The phone number and carrier can stay filled in for later.

Q: A Canadian user isn't receiving texts — what should I check? Confirm the Mobile Phone number is the correct 10-digit mobile number and that the Mobile Carrier matches their actual provider. Some Canadian carriers occasionally change or limit their email-to-text gateways, so also send one test alert to confirm delivery.

Q: How can I test that it's working? Tag the user in a comment on any record. If text notifications are on and the carrier is correct, a text should arrive on their phone within a few minutes.

Q: Do the U.S. carriers still work? Yes. The existing U.S. carriers are unchanged; the three Canadian carriers were simply added to the same list.

Q: Does this change anything for users who don't use text alerts? No. If System Text Notifications is left off, nothing changes for that user.
