1. Before You Start
You will need:
A custom module that has at least one date or date/time field.
A few records in that module with values in the date or date/time field you want to display.
Permission to view the custom module (if you can open it from the menu, you can add it to the calendar).
Access requirements: Any user who can view the custom module and use the Calendar can add it as an Activity Type. No special configuration or feature flag is required.
⚠️ Note: If your custom module does not appear as an option (see Section 3), the most common reason is that it has no visible date or date/time field. Add one to the module first, or contact Dazos support if you believe it should already qualify.
2. Open the Calendar Activity Type Filter
From the CRM, open the Calendar from the left navigation.
On the left side of the calendar, you'll see the Activity Types panel.
This is the list of checkboxes that control which kinds of records appear on the calendar (Events, Tasks, and any modules you've added). Each checkbox can be turned on or off, and each has its own color.
3. Add a Custom Module to the Calendar
In the Activity Types panel, click Add Activity Types. A window opens where you choose what to show:
Field | Description | Example |
Select Module | The module whose records you want to see. Custom modules with a date or date/time field now appear here. |
Test Calendar |
Select Field | The date or date/time field used to place each record on the calendar. |
Test Datetime |
Color | The color used for this module's entries on the calendar, so you can easily tell them apart. | (Pick any color) |
To add your module:
Choose your module.
Choose the field to plot records by.
Pick a color.
Click Save.
The module now appears as a checkbox in the Activity Types panel and its records show on the calendar.
💡 Tip: Each entry you add is tied to one specific field. A record only appears if it has a value in that field. See Section 5 if your module has more than one date field.
4. View Your Records on the Calendar
With the module enabled, navigate to the month, week, or day containing your records. Records appear in the color you chose:
If you plotted by a… | Records appear as… |
Date field | All-day entries on the matching day. |
Date/time field | Timed entries at their exact time of day (for example, 10:32 AM – 11:32 AM), visible in Day and Week views. |
Click any entry to open the record's detail page. To hide the module's records again, simply uncheck its box in the Activity Types panel.
💡 Tip: Records whose chosen date field is empty will not appear on the calendar—only records with a value in that field are shown.
5. Working With Multiple Date Fields
A module can have more than one date or date/time field (for example, a "Date" field and a "Date/Time" field). Each calendar entry is tied to a single field, so:
To show records by more than one field, add a separate Activity Type for each field. Repeat Section 3 and pick a different field (and, ideally, a different color) each time.
A record only appears under the field that actually holds its value. If one record stores its value in the date field and another stores it in the date/time field, you'll need both Activity Types enabled to see both records.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My custom module isn't in the "Select Module" list. Why?
The module must have at least one visible date or date/time field. If it only has hidden system fields (like created/modified time that aren't shown on the form), it won't appear. Add a date or date/time field to the module, then try again.
Q: I added the module but one of my records still isn't showing.
Each entry is tied to one field. Check which field holds that record's value and make sure you've added an Activity Type for that field. Also confirm the field isn't empty and that you're looking at the right date range.
Q: Why does one record show at a specific time and another shows all day?
Records plotted by a plain date field are shown as all-day entries. Records plotted by a date/time field are shown at their exact time of day. This depends on which field you chose when adding the Activity Type.
Q: How do I stop showing a module's records?
Uncheck its box in the Activity Types panel. To remove it entirely, use the delete option next to it in the panel.
Q: What happens if the custom module is deleted?
It is automatically removed from the Activity Type options—you don't need to clean anything up.
Q: Can I show several custom modules at once?
Yes. Add an Activity Type for each module (and field) you want; they display together, each in its own color.
7. Need Help?
If you run into issues:
Confirm the custom module has a visible date or date/time field, and that your records have a value in the field you selected.
Re-open Add Activity Types and verify you added the correct module and field, then check the date range you're viewing.
Contact Dazos support with the module name and an example record, and reference CRM-3151.
