Calendar Quick View: Record Links and Date Context

Clicking a non-task or non-event calendar item now shows a quick-view popup with a clickable link to the source record and highlights the date field that placed the item on your calendar, making it easier to identify and navigate related records.

When you click on a non-task or non-event item on your calendar — such as an Account's Date of Birth, an Intake Opportunity's Admission Date, or any other date field you've enabled in the Activity Type Filter — the quick-view popup now shows you the source record as a clickable link and clearly highlights which date field caused the item to appear on your calendar.

1. Before You Start

You will need:

  • A user account with access to the Calendar module.

  • Permission to view the records you want to see on your calendar (Accounts, Intake Opportunities, Leads, etc.).

  • At least one activity type enabled under Activity Type Filter that pulls a date field — for example Accounts- Date of Birth or Intake Opportunities- Admission Date.

Access requirements: Any CRM user with standard calendar access can use this. No special role or feature flag is required — the enhanced popup appears automatically once the change is deployed to your instance.

If the highlighted date panel does not appear when you click a non-task item, refresh your browser using Ctrl + F5 to clear cached scripts. If the popup still looks like the old layout after a hard refresh, contact Dazos support and reference this guide.

2. Open the Activity Type Filter

From the Calendar, you control which date fields appear by enabling activity types in the Activity Type Filter panel.

1. From the CRM, navigate to Calendar → My Calendar.

2. In the top-right toolbar, click Activity Type Filter.

3. Tick the activity types you want to see on the calendar. For the enhanced popup, the most common ones are:

Accounts- Date of Birth

Intake Opportunities- Admission Date

Leads- Date of Initial Call

Referral Sources- Last Followed

● Any other module + date field configured for your instance.

3. Open the Calendar

Once your activity types are enabled, the calendar shows one row per date-driven item alongside your regular tasks and events.

In the example above, each colored bar in the all-day area at the top of the day represents either a task, an event, or a non-task item (such as a contact whose Date of Birth falls on this day).

Item type

What it represents

Example label

Event

A scheduled meeting with a start and end time

task 123 event - (Held)

Task / Callout

A to-do item with a due date

task 123 task - (Not Started)

Non-task item

A record whose date field matches today

Amanda Gilbert (a contact's DOB)

4. Use the Enhanced Quick View

When you click any non-task item on the calendar, a quick-view popup opens with the new layout.

The popup now shows you:

Element

What it means

Record name

(title)

The name of the source record (for example the contact's name). This is a clickable link — click it to open the full record in a new view.

Highlighted

blue panel

The exact date field that placed this item on the calendar, for example Date of Birth: 05-13-2026 or Admission Date: 05-13-2026 . The date is shown in a white-on-blue badge so you can see it at a glance.

Type

The activity type configured under Activity Type Filter, for example Accounts- Date of Birth . This tells you which filter the entry comes from.

View Detail Opens the source record's detail page. Works the same as clicking the title — useful when the title is long and you want a clearly labelled button.

Why this is helpful: Before this change, a non-task item showed almost nothing — just a name and a generic date. You could not tell whether the item was on the calendar because of a Date of Birth, an Admission Date, a Last-Followed date, or some other field. The highlighted blue panel now spells out exactly which field is responsible.

5. How Task and Event Popups Compare

Clicking an actual Task or Event on the calendar still shows the original popup layout — the highlighted blue panel only appears for non-task/event items so the change does not affect your existing day-to-day workflow on tasks and events.

The Task / Event popup continues to show:

Control

Purpose

Date range badge

The full start–end date and time of the task or event.

Related To

The parent records (Account, Lead, Opportunity, etc.) the task or event is linked to. Each is a clickable pill.

Type

The activity type — for example Events- Start Date & Time, End Date & Time or Calendar- Start Date & Time, Due Date .

Delete

Removes the task or event after a confirmation prompt.

Edit

Opens the task or event in its standard edit form.

View Detail

Opens the full task or event detail page.

Mark as Held / Mark as Completed

Marks the activity as finished. For events, this is Mark as Held; for tasks, this is Mark as Completed. You can also leave an optional comment that gets posted to the parent record.
