Overview
When exporting a Full VOB as a PDF, you may notice that the Limitations section appears blank and Lab Coverage seems missing entirely — even though all of that data exists inside the VOB record. This is not a data loss issue or a configuration error. These are two known design behaviors of the Full VOB PDF export that can make populated data appear absent.
When This Matters
This affects users who:
Export a completed Full VOB as a PDF and compare it against the CRM record
Expect to see limitation text printed next to procedure codes
Expect Lab Coverage to appear as a separate, labeled section on the PDF
Behavior 1: The Limitations Column Only Prints When "Has Day/Dollar Limits" Is Selected
The Limitations column on the Full VOB PDF is conditional. It will only print limitation text when the "Has Day/Dollar Limits" option is selected in the Details multiselect field for a given procedure.
If any other option is selected in that field — such as Covered, Requires Precert, or any other value — the Limitations column will print blank on the PDF, even if limitation text has been entered on the record.
In summary:
✅ Limitations text prints → "Has Day/Dollar Limits" is selected in the Details multiselect
❌ Limitations column appears blank → Any other Details option is selected, regardless of whether limitation text exists
⚠️ Note: This is a design behavior, not a bug. The limitation text is not lost — it exists in the CRM record but will not render on the PDF unless the correct Details option is chosen.
Behavior 2: Lab Coverage Appears in the SA|MH Grid Without a Distinguishing Label
Lab Coverage procedures are not displayed in a separate section on the Full VOB PDF. Instead, they are condensed into the same procedure-code grid as SA|MH Coverage, appearing on the right half of each row with no "Lab" header or label to distinguish them.
This layout makes it appear as though Lab Coverage is entirely absent from the PDF when it is actually present — just unlabeled and visually merged with the SA|MH Coverage section.
In summary:
Lab Coverage is included in the exported PDF
It appears in the same grid as SA|MH Coverage, on the right side of each row
There is currently no "Lab" label or separate header to distinguish it
⚠️ Note: This is also a design behavior, not missing data. No Lab Coverage information is lost during the PDF export.
Tips & Notes
💡 Tip: If you need the Limitations column to populate on the PDF, confirm that "Has Day/Dollar Limits" is selected in the Details multiselect for the relevant procedure before exporting.
💡 Tip: When reviewing Lab Coverage on an exported PDF, look at the right-hand columns within the SA|MH Coverage grid — Lab procedure codes will be present there, even without a label.
⚠️ Important: These behaviors affect all Full VOB PDF exports across all accounts. They are not specific to a single user, role, or configuration. No data is lost — the PDF layout and conditional display logic are the root cause of the appearance.
