PDF Export Font and Layout Corrections User Guide (CRM)

PDF exports now correctly display large plain-text fields at their intended font size with preserved line breaks, matching the on-screen view. The fix applies to all module PDFs, including VOB records, and takes effect automatically.

1. What Was Fixed

Two visual issues in PDF exports have been corrected:

Issue

Before

After

Plain-text

large fields

Rendered in a small, cramped column at reduced font size

Rendered full-width with the correct font size and line breaks preserved

VOB PDF

page frame

Content clipped inside a bordered box with a fixed margin, cutting off text near page edges

Content fills the full page width — no border clipping

Tip: These corrections are automatic. You do not need to change any settings or regenerate reports — simply export a PDF and the improved layout applies.

2. Affected PDF Export Types

Module / Export

What Changed

All modules (standard PDF export)

Plain-text multi-line fields now display at full width with correct font size and preserved line breaks

VOB records (PDF view)

Page border and fixed margin removed; content uses the full printable area

Instant VOB records (PDF view)

Same page-frame correction as VOB records

All other field types and PDF layouts are unchanged.

3. Generating a PDF Export

The process for exporting a PDF is the same as before:

1. Open any record or navigate to the PDF export option for the relevant module. 2. Click the Export PDF or Print PDF button (label varies by module).

3. The PDF downloads or opens in a new tab with the corrected layout.

No new steps, settings, or permissions are needed.

4. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to do anything to get the corrected PDF layout? No. The improvement is applied automatically to all new PDF exports once the update is deployed.

Q: Will previously generated PDFs be updated? No. PDFs that were already downloaded or saved before this update will keep their original layout. Only newly generated PDFs benefit from the fix.

Q: Which fields are affected by the plain-text layout fix? The fix applies to plain-text multi-line fields (long description or notes fields that allow free-form text entry). Standard single-line text, picklist, currency, and date fields are not affected.

Q: The PDF still looks clipped or the font is still small for a specific field. What should I do? Try regenerating the PDF after the update has been deployed. If the issue persists on a specific module or field, contact Dazos support with the module name, field name, and a sample record reference, along with ticket CRM-3052.

Q: Are printed views (not PDF) affected? No. This fix applies specifically to PDF exports. On-screen views are not changed.
