Opus EMR Integration Removes First Letter of Patient First Name on Sync (CRM)

Troubleshoot the Opus EMR integration bug where the first letter of a patient's first name is removed during a sync back to Dazos CRM. Learn how to verify the SPE-944 fix and escalate to support if required.

Problem

When a patient record is pushed from Dazos CRM to Opus EMR and subsequently updated in Opus, the sync back to Dazos incorrectly removes the first character of the contact or account first name field.

For example:

  • Jimmy Doe becomes immy Doe

  • Joey Mann becomes oey Mann

  • JC Test becomes C Test

This issue occurs across multiple patient records and can be confirmed by reviewing the record's update log in Dazos, which will show the Opus EMR integration as the source of the name change.

Possible Causes

  • A bug in the Opus EMR integration connector caused the first character of the first name field to be stripped whenever Opus synced updates back to Dazos.

  • This affected any record that had been pushed to Opus and then subsequently modified in Opus — triggering a sync back to Dazos that overwrote the first name with the truncated value.

Solution

  1. Do not attempt to manually fix names as a permanent solution. While you can correct affected names directly in Dazos CRM, the underlying issue will cause the name to be truncated again on the next Opus sync if the bug has not been patched on your instance.

  2. Verify your instance has received the fix. This bug (internal reference: SPE-944) has been identified and resolved by the Dazos development team. If you are still experiencing this issue, your instance may not yet have the fix applied.

  3. Submit a support ticket. If patient first names are still being truncated after an Opus sync, contact Dazos Support immediately. There is no configuration workaround available — resolution requires a backend fix from the development team.

  4. Provide the following details when contacting support:

    • Your CRM instance URL

    • Specific examples of affected patient records (first name as it should appear vs. how it appears after sync)

    • Confirmation that the update log on the record shows the Opus EMR integration as the source of the change

Still Need Help?

If patient first names are still being truncated following an Opus EMR sync, contact Dazos Support. This issue cannot be resolved through CRM settings or field mapping changes and requires investigation by the development team. Please include affected patient record examples and your instance URL in your support request.
