Troubleshooting: User-Type Field Still Appears on Submit New Lead After Unchecking 'Use in Submit New Lead' (CRM)

Overview

A user-type field (such as a field that lets you select a user's name) continues to appear on the Submit New Lead screen even after unchecking Use in Submit New Lead in the Layout Editor. Clearing the browser cache, toggling the setting off and on, and saving again do not resolve the issue. Other field types respond correctly to the same toggle — only the user-type field ignores it.

Possible Causes

  • This was a platform-level bug specific to user-type fields in the Layout Editor. The Use in Submit New Lead setting was not being respected for this field type, causing the field to remain visible on the Submit New Lead form regardless of the configured setting.

  • Other field types were not affected — the issue was isolated to user-type fields only.

Solution

  1. Confirm the field type: Verify that the field in question is a user-type field (i.e., a field that allows users to select a person's name from a list of CRM users).

  2. Confirm the setting is unchecked: In the Layout Editor, navigate to your module (e.g., Intake Opportunities) and confirm that Use in Submit New Lead is unchecked for the affected field.

  3. Note that no workaround is available: Prior to the bug fix being deployed by Dazos engineering, there was no workaround for this issue. Standard troubleshooting steps — such as clearing cookies and cache, or toggling the setting — did not resolve it.

  4. Verify the fix has been applied: This bug has been resolved by the Dazos engineering team. If you are experiencing this issue, reload the Submit New Lead page and confirm whether the field has been removed. If the fix is in place, the field should no longer appear once Use in Submit New Lead is unchecked and saved.
