FAQ: Getting iVerify Error Reason: Provider Not on File (CRM)

This article answers questions regarding iverify error reason: Provider not on file.

Updated over 2 months ago

Problem
When submitting a VOB (Verification of Benefits), an error message appears in red stating:
Error Reason: Provider Not on File

Solution
This error occurs because the payer does not recognize the NPI number entered in Dazos settings as registered in their system.

There are two main ways to register an NPI with an insurance company:

  1. Submit the First Claims: Your NPI is automatically registered when you submit your initial claims.

  2. Submit a Letter of Intent: You can also register by submitting a letter of intent to the insurance company's credentialing department, requesting to be listed as an out-of-network provider.

For the second option, contact the insurance company's credentialing department to understand the specific process and where to submit the letter of intent.

These instructions are intended as a guide based on our research. We recommend consulting with your billing team or the team managing your patient claims to ensure all necessary steps are completed.
