Which PAA Field Types Can Be Mapped Field-to-Field with KIPU?
Not all Pre-Assessment (PAA) field types in Dazos CRM support direct field-to-field mapping with KIPU. Only standard field types are supported. Complex field types — like Yes/No Question with Detail — cannot be mapped directly and will only appear in KIPU as part of the PAA PDF.
When to Use / Why It Matters
This applies any time a CSM or customer is configuring PAA-to-KIPU field mapping and expects all PAA fields to flow into discrete KIPU fields. Setting incorrect expectations can lead to confusion when certain fields don't appear in KIPU as expected.
Field Types That Support Field-to-Field Mapping
The following PAA field types can be mapped directly to corresponding KIPU fields:
📝 Text fields (names, addresses, MR numbers)
📅 Date fields (date of birth, admission/discharge dates)
📞 Phone number fields
📧 Email fields
🔽 Single-select dropdown/picklist fields (gender, marital status, payment method, level of care)
🔢 Numeric fields (IDs, location codes)
Field Types That Cannot Be Mapped Field-to-Field
Complex or compound field types are not supported by the KIPU API for direct mapping. These include:
⚠️ Yes/No Question with Detail — cannot be mapped field-to-field; only included in the PAA PDF sent to KIPU.
⚠️ Other complex or multi-part field types may also be unsupported depending on KIPU API availability.
How Unmapped Fields Still Reach KIPU
Fields that cannot be mapped directly are not lost. When a PAA is sent to KIPU, the entire PAA is also delivered as a PDF attachment. Any field that can't map field-to-field will still be visible in KIPU as part of that PDF document.
Pro Tips / Extra Help
💡 Field mapping availability depends on KIPU's API documentation — our integration team reviews this before mapping any new field type.
💡 If a customer needs a specific field type mapped that isn't currently supported, submit a support ticket with the field details so the team can evaluate KIPU API availability.
⚠️ Do not promise customers that all PAA fields will map field-to-field — always confirm supported field types first.
