Before You Begin
You need:
An Intake Opportunity with a completed Pre-Assessment.
Active access to both Dazos CRM and Kipu EMR.
Proper user permissions to create/edit patient records in both systems.
Steps
Method 1: Push Patient from Dazos to Kipu (Recommended)
Open the Intake Opportunity in Dazos CRM
Click the three-dot menu (More Actions) in the top-right
Select "Create Patient in Kipu"
Confirm the push to create the patient record in Kipu
Wait for the process to complete - the patient record should appear under "Linked EMR records" on the Opportunity
Method 2: Manual Creation and Linking
If you created the patient directly in Kipu first:
Accept the patient in Kipu EMR - This step is critical and must be completed before linking
In Dazos, open the Intake Opportunity
Click "Link EMR Record"
Search using the patient's first name, last name, or full name (exactly as entered in Kipu)
Select the matching Kipu patient record to establish the link
Verification / Expected Result
Once the patient is successfully linked:
You'll see the patient record listed under "Linked EMR records" in the Opportunity
The "Send PAA Pdf to KIPU" option will appear in the three-dot menu when viewing Pre-Assessments
Troubleshooting / Common Errors
"No data available in table" when searching:
Ensure the patient has been accepted in Kipu EMR first
Verify the patient name spelling matches exactly between systems
Check your user permissions - you may need access to the specific Treatment Program
"Send PAA Pdf to KIPU" option not visible:
Confirm the patient record is properly linked (check "Linked EMR records" section)
Ensure the patient was accepted in Kipu before attempting to link
โ ๏ธ Important: For Kipu EMR specifically, patients must be manually accepted within Kipu before the CRM linking and PAA send options will function properly.
