How IQ Report Date Filtering Works with Claims Data (IQ)

IQ reports filter claims data based on specific date fields, which is important to understand when claims appear to be missing from your reports for certain date ranges.

How IQ Filters Claims Data

When you set a date range filter in IQ reports like Claims by Service or Claims by Patient, the system uses the following date fields to determine which claims to include:

  • Date of Service (DOS) - When the medical service was provided

  • Date of End (DOE) - The end date of the service period

IQ does not filter claims based on:

  • Claim creation date

  • Last modified date

  • Last billed date

  • Import date into the system

Why Claims May Appear Missing

Claims might seem to be missing from your reports when the actual service dates (DOS/DOE) fall outside your selected date range, even if:

  • The claim was recently created or modified

  • The claim was recently billed or imported

  • You can see the claim data in other parts of the system

Example Scenario

If you filter an IQ report for dates December 19-23, 2025, but see no results:

  • The claims may exist in the system with a Last Billed Date of 12/20/2025

  • However, if the actual Date of Service (DOS) was 12/15/2025, these claims won't appear in your December 19-23 filtered report

  • To see these claims, you would need to adjust your date range to include 12/15/2025

πŸ’‘ Tips for Accurate Reporting

  • When looking for recent claims activity, consider expanding your date range to include earlier service dates

  • Check the actual DOS/DOE dates in your source system if claims appear to be missing

  • Remember that the report date filter reflects when services were provided, not when claims were processed
