Troubleshooting Corrupted Field Blocks in CRM - Field Edit Icons Disappearing (CRM)

This guide helps resolve issues where CRM fields become non-editable after saving. This commonly affects fields in the Web Traffic Data block where the edit (pencil) icon disappears after making changes.

Symptoms

You may experience these issues:

  • Field initially appears editable with a pencil icon

  • After selecting a value and saving, the pencil icon disappears

  • Field becomes completely non-editable

  • Multiple page refreshes may temporarily restore editing capability, but inconsistently

  • Other fields in the same section continue working normally

Root Cause

This occurs when a field block becomes corrupted, typically in the Web Traffic Data block. When the majority of fields in a block are hidden, it can cause remaining visible fields to lose their editing functionality.

Solution

To fix this issue, you'll need to move the affected field to a new or different block:

  1. Identify which block contains the problematic field (commonly the Web Traffic Data block)

  2. Create a new field block in your CRM layout

  3. Move the affected picklist field from the corrupted block to the new block

  4. Save the layout changes

  5. Test the field to confirm editing functionality is restored

Note: This solution requires admin permissions to modify CRM layouts and field blocks.

When to Contact Support

Contact Dazos support if:

  • You don't have admin permissions to modify field blocks

  • The issue persists after moving fields to a new block

  • You're unsure which block contains the problematic field

  • Multiple fields across different blocks are affected

Prevention

To avoid this issue in the future:

  • Avoid hiding the majority of fields within a single block

  • Regularly review field block configurations

  • Distribute fields across multiple blocks rather than concentrating them in one block
