Symptom/Error
When working with opportunities in the CRM:
You select 'Insurance' for the Insurance Type field
The field automatically reverts to 'Scholarship' within minutes (typically within 10 minutes)
This affects reports like Pending Admissions, Blue Media reports, and MTD reports
The issue occurs on both desktop and mobile versions
Reports show zero admits when there should be data
Cause
This issue is caused by a default value being set in the Module Layouts and Fields configuration. When a default value is configured for the Insurance Type field, it automatically overrides any manual selection and reverts the field back to the default value (in this case, 'Scholarship').
Solution
Follow these steps to remove the default value and fix the automatic reversion:
Navigate to Module Settings:
Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Module Management → Module Layouts & Fields
Access the Opportunities Module:
Select 'Opportunities' from the module list
Locate the Payment Type Field:
Find the Payment Type field in the field layout
Click on the pencil to access its properties
Remove the Default Value:
In the field properties, look for the 'Default Value' setting
If it's set to 'Scholarship', remove this value
Set the field to have no default value or 'Select an option'
Save the Changes:
Click Save to apply the configuration changes
Test the Fix:
Create or edit an opportunity
Change the Insurance Type to 'Insurance'
Save and monitor for at least one hour to ensure it doesn't revert
Expected Result After Fix
Once the default value is removed:
The Insurance Type field will retain the value you manually select
No automatic reversion from 'Insurance' to 'Scholarship' will occur
Reports will accurately reflect the correct insurance type data
Both desktop and mobile versions will maintain the selected values
Verification Steps
To confirm the issue is resolved:
Select an opportunity where you previously experienced this issue
Change the Insurance Type to 'Insurance' and save
Verify that your records and reports now show the correct data
When to Contact Support
Contact Dazos support if:
You cannot locate the Insurance Type field in the Module Layouts and Fields settings
The field continues to revert after removing the default value
You need assistance with updating affected reports to include scholarship data as an alternative solution
Multiple fields are experiencing similar automatic reversion issues
