Before You Begin
Prepare Your CSV: Ensure your file is saved in .csv format with clear column headers in the first row (e.g., Company Name, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email)
Import Permissions: You must have Import permissions enabled for your user profile
Data Cleanup: Check for duplicate entries in your spreadsheet before starting to maintain a clean database
Steps
Navigate to Referral Sources: Log into your Dazos CRM and go to the Referral Sources module from the left navigation menu
Access Import Function: Look for the "Import" button (typically found in the top right corner or under a "More" dropdown menu)
Select CSV File: Choose the CSV option as your file source to start the upload wizard
Upload Your File: Click "Select from my computer", browse to your prepared CSV file, and upload it to the system
Proceed to Field Mapping: Click "Next" to move to the mapping configuration screen
Map Your Fields: This is the most important step - choose which columns from your CSV correspond to specific fields in Dazos. For example:
Review Field Mapping: Double-check that all critical data points are correctly aligned with their corresponding Dazos fields
Start the Import: Once you've verified the mapping is correct, click "Import" to begin processing
Complete the Process: The system will process your file - this usually takes just a few minutes. Click "Finish" when the import summary appears
Verification / Expected Result
After the import completes, your referral accounts and contacts will appear in the Referral Sources module. Open a few sample records to confirm that all data (names, phone numbers, emails, etc.) landed in the correct fields.
Troubleshooting / Common Errors
File Format Error: If the system rejects your file, ensure it's a true CSV format and not an Excel (.xlsx) file
Missing Records: Records with missing mandatory fields may be rejected. Check the import summary and ensure required fields like Company Name are populated
Data in Wrong Fields: If information appears incorrectly, you likely misaligned columns during field mapping. You may need to delete the imported records and restart with corrected mapping
π‘ Pro Tip: Start with 2-3 test records first to get familiar with the process and verify the mapping accuracy before importing your full dataset.
