Symptom/Error
When attempting to convert a lead, you receive an error message or the conversion process fails. This typically happens after fields have been recently removed from your CRM system.
Cause
The error occurs when:
A field was deleted from your CRM system
The removed field is still referenced in the lead conversion data mapping configuration
The system tries to map data to a field that no longer exists
Solution
Follow these steps to identify and fix the mapping issue:
Navigate to Lead Conversion Data Mapping
Go to Settings > CRM Settings > Data Mapping > Lead Conversion Data Mapping.Review Field Mappings
Examine each mapping row for fields that may have been recently removed. Look for:Field names that no longer exist in your system
Empty dropdown selections where fields used to be mapped
Any obvious references to deleted fields
Remove Invalid Mappings
Delete any mapping rows that reference removed fields by clicking the delete/remove button for those rows
Verification
After updating the mapping configuration:
Test the lead conversion process with a sample lead record
Verify that the conversion completes without errors
Confirm that existing valid field mappings still work correctly
Prevention Tips
To avoid this issue in the future:
Check mappings before removing fields: Before deleting any fields from your system, review the lead conversion data mapping to see if they are being used
