Facebook Lead Ads via Zapier: First Name and Last Name Must Be Separate Fields (CRM)

Overview This guide explains how to resolve an error that occurs when integrating Facebook Lead Ads with Dazos CRM via Zapier.

The error is caused by a Facebook form that collects the lead's name as a single Full Name field instead of separate First Name and Last Name fields.

Symptom / Error

When mapping a Facebook Lead Ad form to Dazos via Zapier, you encounter an error that blocks data from transferring. This occurs when the Facebook form uses a single Full Name field and you attempt to map it to the Dazos Create Lead action in Zapier.

The Zap fails and leads do not appear in Dazos CRM.

Cause

Dazos CRM requires First Name and Last Name to be submitted as two separate values at the point of lead creation.

A combined Full Name field is not supported. When Zapier receives a single name string and attempts to map it, the Dazos API cannot process it correctly, resulting in an error.

This is a form configuration issue on the Facebook side — not a Zapier or Dazos bug.

Solution

To resolve this issue, update your Facebook Lead Ad form to collect First Name and Last Name as separate fields, then remap them in Zapier.

  1. Open your Facebook Ads Manager and navigate to the Lead Ad form that is causing the error.

  2. Edit the form and locate the name field currently set to Full Name.

  3. Remove the Full Name field and replace it with two separate fields: First Name and Last Name. Facebook's native form builder supports these as individual field options.

  4. Save and publish the updated Facebook form.

  5. Open your Zap in Zapier and go to the step that maps Facebook Lead Ad fields to the Dazos Create Lead action.

  6. Update the field mapping so that the Facebook First Name field maps to the Dazos First Name field, and the Facebook Last Name field maps to the Dazos Last Name field.

  7. Test the Zap using a sample submission to confirm leads are created successfully in Dazos CRM.

⚠️ Note: If you have already published leads through the old form using the Full Name field, those records will not be retroactively fixed. Only new submissions after the form update will flow correctly into Dazos.

Verification / Expected Result

After updating the Facebook form and remapping the fields in Zapier, new lead submissions should appear in Dazos CRM with the First Name and Last Name fields correctly populated. The Zap should run without errors.

✅ Confirm by submitting a test lead through the updated Facebook form and verifying the lead record in Dazos CRM.
