Troubleshooting Quick Create Button Disappearance in Task/Event Settings (CRM)

This guide helps resolve a specific UI issue where the Save, Cancel, and "Go to full form" buttons disappear when modifying Task or Event Quick Create settings, particularly when changing the Due Date field from mandatory to non-mandatory.

Troubleshooting Quick Create Button Disappearance in Task/Event Settings

Symptom/Error

When attempting to modify Task or Event Quick Create settings in Module Layouts & Fields, the following occurs:

  • You try to uncheck the "Quick Create" option for the Due Date field

  • The Save, Cancel, and "Go to full form" buttons suddenly disappear

  • The form becomes unresponsive and unusable

  • You cannot save your changes or exit the configuration properly

Cause

This is a known UI bug that occurs when attempting to modify the Quick Create setting before adjusting the Mandatory setting. The system requires a specific sequence of actions to prevent this interface issue.

Solution

To successfully modify the Due Date field settings without encountering this bug, follow these steps in the correct order:

  1. Navigate to CRM Settings → Module Management → Module Layouts & Fields

  2. Select either Events or Tasks (repeat for both if needed)

  3. Locate the Due Date field in your field list

  4. First step: Uncheck the "Mandatory" option for the Due Date field

  5. Click Save to apply this change

  6. Second step: Now you can safely uncheck the "Quick Create" option

  7. Click Save again to finalize your changes

⚠️ Important: You must uncheck "Mandatory" before attempting to uncheck "Quick Create". Attempting to uncheck "Quick Create" first will trigger the button disappearance bug.

Verification

After completing these steps:

  • The Due Date field should no longer be mandatory in your Tasks/Events

  • The Due Date field should no longer appear in Quick Create forms

  • All form buttons should remain visible and functional

  • You can create tasks/events without being required to enter a Due Date

Troubleshooting

If buttons have already disappeared:

  • Refresh your browser page to reset the form

  • Clear your browser cache if the issue persists

  • Follow the correct sequence outlined above

If the issue continues:

  • Try using a different browser

  • Contact Dazos Support with your instance URL and the specific module affected
