How to Add Pie Charts to Reports in Dazos CRM (CRM)

This guide explains how to create Pie Charts in Dazos CRM reports. If you're working with an old report format (over 3 years old), you'll need to recreate the report using the new format to enable charting capabilities.

Before You Begin

  • Access to the Reports module in Dazos CRM

  • Understanding of which fields you want to chart (e.g., Referral Source Type)

  • Important: Old-style reports (pre-overhaul from over 3 years ago) don't support graphs and must be recreated as new reports

Steps

1. Check Your Report Format

If you're working with an existing report that doesn't show graphing options, it may be using the old report format. Old reports have no graphing capabilities and will need to be recreated.

2. Create a New Report

Navigate to Reports β†’ Add Report to start building a new report with charting capabilities.

Set the Related Module to Intake Opportunity so you can pull Referral Source fields for your pie chart.

4. Add Your Filters

In the Filters section, add any criteria you need, including Referral Source Type.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Consider adding "Referral Source is not empty" to ensure you have data to chart.

5. Configure Columns

On the Columns step, add Referral Source Type. This field will determine what the pie slices are based on.

6. Set Up the Pie Chart

On the chart configuration step:

  • Choose Pie Chart as your chart type

  • Set Group By Field to Referral Source Type >

7. Save and Generate

Click Save & Generate Report to create your report, then use the Show Graph button on the results page to display your pie chart.

Verification / Expected Result

After completing these steps, you should see:

  • A pie chart showing data segments based on Referral Source Type

  • Each slice represents a different referral source type with proportional sizing

  • The ability to toggle between table view and chart view using the Show Graph option

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

⚠️ Empty Chart: If your chart appears empty, your filters may be excluding all records. Try adding "Referral Source is not empty" to confirm you have data to chart.

⚠️ No Chart Options Available: This indicates you're working with an old report format. You must recreate the report as described in the steps above.

⚠️ Missing Referral Source Fields: Ensure you've selected "Intake Opportunity" as the Related Module to access referral source data.
