How to Add Sub-Module Reference Blocks to Module Side Views (CRM)

Sub Module Reference blocks allow you to display related data from other modules directly in a module's side view. This is useful when you want to show connected information, such as displaying related contacts, deals, or tasks within an Account module.

Before You Begin

You'll need administrative access to modify module layouts in your Dazos CRM. Make sure you know which related module or table you want to reference.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > CRM Settings > Module Management > Module Fields & Layout

  2. Select the module you want to modify from the dropdown (e.g., Account module)

  3. Click "Add Block" where you want the reference block positioned in the side view

  4. Set the Block Type to "Sub Module Reference"

  5. Choose which related table or module you want to display from the available options

  6. Configure any additional settings for the block as needed

  7. Save your changes

Expected Result

The Sub Module Reference block will now appear in your module's side view, displaying related data from the connected module. Users can view and interact with this related information without leaving the current record.

Understanding Modules vs. Widgets

It's helpful to understand the difference between these CRM components:

  • Modules: Core areas where you store and manage records (like Leads, Accounts, Campaigns). These are the main "containers" for your data with customizable fields, blocks, and layouts.

  • Widgets: Small visual components placed on Dashboards to display data summaries or reports. These show grouped information and can be refreshed or expanded.

  • Sub Module Reference Blocks: Components within modules that display related data from other modules, perfect for showing connected information in context.

💡 Tips

  • Sub Module Reference blocks are ideal alternatives to custom widgets when you want to display related module data

  • Consider the relationship between modules when choosing which reference to add

  • Test the layout after adding blocks to ensure an optimal user experience
