How Discharge Type Mapping Works
When discharge information is synced from Kipu EMR to Dazos CRM, the system maps discharge types based on the data received from the EMR.
However, when a discharge type is selected in Kipu but there isn't a corresponding discharge subtype identified within the EMR, Dazos automatically defaults the status to 'Unknown.' This is expected system behavior.
Why Patients Show as 'Discharge Unknown'
The 'Discharge Unknown' status appears when:
A discharge type is selected in Kipu EMR
Kipu isn't passing a defined discharge subtype for that selection
The EMR data sync doesn't include the specific discharge details needed
This is normal system behavior and indicates that the EMR isn't providing the complete discharge information needed for proper categorization.
Patients Incorrectly Marked as 'Discharge Unknown'
Sometimes patients who are still actively in treatment may appear as 'Discharge Unknown' in Dazos. This can happen when:
A discharge date was previously entered in the EMR and then removed
The system retains the discharge status despite the patient continuing treatment
Pulling updates from the EMR doesn't automatically correct the status
Resolution
If a patient is incorrectly showing as 'Discharge Unknown' when they're still in treatment, contact Dazos support. Our team can make backend adjustments so that when you pull updates from the EMR, the system will keep them as 'in treatment' status to match what the EMR reports.
โ ๏ธ Note: Don't manually change the status from 'Unknown' to 'In Treatment' - this requires backend adjustments by support to ensure proper syncing.
