How to Set Up KIPU Discharge Type Mapping for New Values (CRM)

When you add new discharge type values in both KIPU EMR and your CRM, they do not automatically map to each other. You must manually configure the discharge type mapping to ensure proper syncing between systems.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure the new discharge type values exist in both KIPU EMR and your CRM picklist

  • Verify you have Administrator access to CRM Settings

  • Confirm the 'Admin' option is checked in your user profile settings

Steps

  1. Navigate to KIPU EMR Settings
    Go to Settings → KIPU EMR Settings → Discharge Type Mapping

  2. Add mapping for the first new discharge type
    Create a mapping entry for "Client Initiated Discharge"
    Map: KIPU value → CRM picklist value
    ​

  3. Add mapping for the second new discharge type
    Create a mapping entry for "Detox Completion"
    Map: KIPU value → CRM picklist value
    ​

  4. Save the mapping configuration
    Click Save to apply all mapping changes

Verification / Expected Result

After completing the mapping configuration:

  • The next KIPU data pull will apply the mapped discharge types to linked CRM records

  • New discharge types will sync correctly between KIPU and your CRM

  • Patient records will show the proper discharge status based on your mapping

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

KIPU EMR Settings not visible even as Admin user:

  • Check that the 'Admin' option is selected in your user profile settings

  • Navigate to Settings → Manage Users → locate your user → ensure 'Admin' checkbox is checked

  • Refresh your page or log out and back in after Admin privileges are enabled

  • Contact Dazos Support if the settings remain hidden after confirming Admin access

Mapping not working after configuration:

  • Verify the discharge type values match exactly between KIPU and CRM (spelling and formatting)

  • Confirm both systems have the new discharge types properly configured

  • Allow time for the next scheduled KIPU data pull to process the changes

⚠️ Note: New discharge type values must be manually mapped - they will not sync automatically even when they exist in both systems.
