Lead Source Picklist Keeps Updating with CTM Values After Unmapping (CRM)

Overview If your Lead Source picklist continues to update with CTM values after unmapping the field, this is expected behavior due to the Campaign Source mapping connection. This guide explains why this happens and how to maintain a static manual list.

Before You Begin

This issue occurs specifically when:

  • CTM integration is active in your Dazos workspace

  • You've unmapped the Lead Source field but values keep appearing

  • You want to maintain a static, manually-controlled picklist

Why Lead Source Updates Automatically

When CTM integration is active, the Lead Source picklist continues to update automatically even after unmapping. This happens because the Lead Source field is tied to the Campaign Source mapping in the CTM integration. The system maintains this connection to ensure data consistency between your call tracking and CRM data.

⚠️ Note: The system Lead Source field cannot be prevented from updating while CTM integration is active β€” this is by design.

Solution: Create a Custom Picklist Field

To maintain a static manual list, create a separate custom picklist field instead of using the system Lead Source field.

  1. Navigate to your field management settings in Dazos

  2. Create a new custom picklist field (e.g., "Manual Lead Source" or "Lead Origin")

  3. Add your desired static values to the new picklist

  4. Update your forms, reports, and workflows to use the new custom field

  5. Train your team to use the new field for manual lead source tracking

Verification / Expected Result

After creating the custom picklist field:

  • Your new custom field remains static with only your manually defined values

  • The system Lead Source field continues to update with CTM data as designed

  • Both fields can be used for different reporting purposes if needed

πŸ’‘ Tip: Use a descriptive name for your custom field (e.g., "Manual Lead Source") to avoid confusion with the system Lead Source field.
