Before You Begin
Ensure you have the following before troubleshooting:
Permissions: You must have Administrator access to the CRM instance.
Access: You need access to edit both the affected dashboard and the underlying reports.
Preparation: Take note of which reports were on your dashboard before you begin troubleshooting so you know what to replace.
Steps to Resolve
Step 1: Identify the Problematic Report
Navigate to your frozen/unresponsive CRM dashboard.
Check if any reports on the dashboard utilize Vertical Stacked Charts.
Look specifically for reports that pull massive datasets (e.g., MTD Call Volume, All-Time Lead Sources, etc.).
Step 2: Remove the Report from the Dashboard
Access your dashboard settings or enter Edit Mode.
Locate the specific report widget causing the freezing issue.
Remove or temporarily disable the report widget from the dashboard.
Save the dashboard changes. (Your dashboard should now load normally without the heavy widget).
Step 3: Modify the Chart Type
Navigate to the Reports module in your CRM.
Find and open the problematic report.
Click on Customize to modify the report settings.
Change the chart type from Vertical Stacked Chart to a more optimized option, such as:
Horizontal Bar Chart
Line Chart
Pie Chart
Standard Table View
Save the report changes.
Step 4: Re-Add the Report to the Dashboard
Return to your dashboard and enter Edit Mode.
Add the modified report widget back to the dashboard layout.
Save and test that the dashboard loads properly.Expected Result
Verification / Expected Result
After completing these steps:
Your dashboard will load instantly without freezing or causing browser "Page Unresponsive" errors.
The high-volume report will display its data smoothly using the new, optimized chart type.
Browser performance will remain stable even when viewing large datasets.
Additional Troubleshooting
If the dashboard still won't load after removing the widget:
Clear your browser cache and cookies.
Try accessing the dashboard in an Incognito/Private browser window to rule out extension conflicts.
Check with other users to see if they are experiencing the same issue (which could indicate a system-wide latency event rather than a chart error).
If you absolutely must use a Vertical Stacked Chart:
Edit the report's conditions to add stricter Date Range filters, reducing the total dataset size well below 1,000 records.
Important Notes
⚠️ Warning: Vertical Stacked Charts with datasets over 1000 records may cause browser performance issues.
💡 Tip: Use alternative chart types for reports with large amounts of data to maintain optimal performance.
✅ Best Practice: Regularly review dashboard performance and consider data filtering options for high-volume reports.
