Overview
You can now download a chart from a saved report, or an entire dashboard tab, as a PDF file directly from the CRM. The PDF is generated in your browser and saved straight to your computer—no email step, no upload, no waiting on a server job. Each PDF includes a title at the top, a footer label at the bottom, and the Dazos logo on every page.
1. Before You Start
You will need:
A CRM user account that can view Reports and Dashboards.
A saved Chart & Detail report or a dashboard tab containing at least one chart.
A modern desktop browser. The feature has been verified on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
Access requirements: Every user who can already view a report or dashboard tab can export it. There is no separate permission, role flag, or admin setting to enable.
If the Export PDF or Export Dashboard button does not appear where this guide says it should, refresh the page once. If it is still missing, contact Dazos support so they can confirm your instance is on the latest release.
💡 Tip: PDF generation happens entirely on your computer. Large dashboards with many widgets can take a few seconds to capture—the page may briefly freeze while the file is being built. This is expected.
2. Export a Single Report Chart as PDF
Use this when you want to download just one chart—for example, a pie chart of Lead Source performance—without the rest of the dashboard around it.
From the CRM, click Reports in the left navigation.
Open the Chart & Detail report you want to export.
The report opens with the saved chart already rendered (or with the configuration form, if you have not generated it yet). If a configuration form appears, click Generate Graph to render the chart.
Wait for the chart to finish drawing. After the chart appears, the Export PDF button (with a red PDF icon) appears at the top-right of the chart card, just to the right of the Units / % toggle.
Click Export PDF.
A “PDF downloaded” notification appears at the bottom-right of the page, and your browser saves the file.

💡 Tip: If you change the chart’s filters or click Generate Graph again, the Export PDF button hides until the new chart finishes drawing. This protects you from exporting a partially-rendered image.
3. Export an Entire Dashboard Tab as PDF
Use this when you want to capture the whole dashboard view in one document—for example, all widgets in your “Sales Dashboard” tab on a single PDF.
From the CRM, click Dashboard in the left navigation.
Switch to the dashboard tab you want to export.
Wait for every widget on that tab to finish loading. While widgets are still loading, the Export Dashboard button is hidden so that the PDF cannot be exported with half-loaded charts.
When all widgets have settled, the Export Dashboard button (with a red PDF icon) appears at the top-right of the dashboard header, next to the Edit Dashboard button.
Click Export Dashboard.
A “PDF downloaded” notification appears and your browser saves the file.

⚠️ Important: The Export Dashboard button hides any time you reload widgets—for example, when you click Apply Filter with a new date range or switch to a different tab. It reappears automatically once the widgets finish refreshing. Always wait until the button is visible before clicking it, so the PDF captures the fully rendered dashboard.
4. What the PDF Looks Like
Every PDF—whether it is a single chart or a full dashboard—is generated with the same layout and branding so it looks polished when shared with stakeholders.

If a chart is too tall to fit on one A4 landscape page (for example, a horizontal bar chart with 60+ rows), the export automatically splits the image across multiple pages so nothing is cut off.

Where Export PDF is intentionally hidden: The Export PDF button does not appear on the following Chart & Detail report types, because the captured image would not be meaningful as a stand-alone document:

If you need to share data from one of these report types, screenshot the chart card manually, or rebuild the report as a Pie / Bar / Funnel chart and use Export PDF there.
💡 Tip: If your dashboard mixes supported and unsupported chart types, Export Dashboard still works—it captures everything visible on the tab, including the unsupported chart types, because it captures the whole header area as one image.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the PDF get emailed or saved to the server? No. PDF generation runs entirely in your browser. The file goes straight to your computer’s Downloads folder (or wherever your browser is configured to save downloads). Nothing is uploaded, stored on the CRM server, or audited.
Q: Can I customise the title, footer, or filename? Not from the UI right now. The title comes from the report name (or dashboard tab name), the footer comes from the saved graph label (reports) or dazoshealth.com (dashboards), and the filename is generated automatically. If your team needs custom titles or filenames, please raise a request with Dazos support.
Q: Why does the Export PDF button take a moment to appear? The button only becomes visible after the chart has fully drawn. There is a short delay—about a third of a second for a single chart, slightly under a second for a dashboard—so that the export captures the finished chart, not an in-progress animation.
Q: The button disappeared while I was looking at the dashboard. Why? That happens when widgets reload—most commonly after you click Apply Filter, change the date range, or switch tabs. The button reappears once the new data is fully loaded. Wait for it to reappear before clicking.
Q: Can I export to a format other than PDF (PNG, Excel, PowerPoint)? Not from this button. The export is PDF-only. For tabular data, the Reports module already supports Excel and CSV export through the existing Export action in the report toolbar.
Q: Does Export PDF work in scheduled reports or emailed reports? No. This is an interactive, on-screen feature. Scheduled reports continue to use the existing email delivery options.
Q: My PDF looks lower-resolution than I expected. Can I get a higher-quality file? The export currently uses a 2× device-pixel-ratio capture and JPEG compression at 70 % quality, which balances file size against print quality. If you need print-shop quality output for a customer-facing document, screenshot the chart and have your design team rebuild it in a vector tool.
Q: A chart on a dashboard widget says “No data” — will it still show up in the PDF? Yes. The export captures whatever is on screen, including empty-state messages. If you want a “clean” PDF, change the filter so all widgets have data before clicking Export Dashboard.
Q: Does the PDF respect dark mode / custom themes? The capture is forced to a white background so the output is print-friendly even when the CRM is in dark mode. Text and chart colours render as they appear on screen.
7. Need Help?
If the PDF download does not start, or the file is empty or corrupted:
Refresh the page. A page refresh re-initialises the export script and resolves most one-off failures.
Wait for the chart or dashboard to fully load before clicking the export button. The button is intentionally hidden during load—if you force it to appear (for example, through browser developer tools), the resulting PDF will be incomplete.
Check your browser’s download settings. Some browsers block automatic downloads until you grant permission. Look for a download prompt in the address bar or the browser toolbar.
Try a different supported browser—Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. The feature has been verified on these.
Contact Dazos support with: the report name (or dashboard tab name) you were exporting, the chart type, your browser and version, and the time the export failed. Reference ticket CRM-2594.
