Overview
By default, emails sent from Dazos appear to come from [email protected]. To send emails from your own domain and email address, you must complete domain DNS verification by adding specific DNS records to your domain's settings.
Before You Begin
You will need:
Administrative access to your domain's DNS settings (or contact your IT team)
Your domain registrar login (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.)
The specific DNS record values provided by Dazos support
Why Domain Verification is Required
Without proper DNS verification, Dazos cannot safely "spoof" your email address. To prevent your emails from being marked as spam, the system defaults to using [email protected] as the trusted sender address.
Once verification is complete, emails will appear to be sent from your actual email address instead of the generic no-reply address.
Steps
Step 1: Request DNS Record Values from Support
Contact Dazos support and request domain verification for email sending. Support will provide you with three specific DNS record values:
Domain Verification TXT record - Verifies domain ownership
DKIM Authentication CNAME record 1 - First authentication record
DKIM Authentication CNAME record 2 - Second authentication record
Step 2: Add DNS Records to Your Domain
Your IT team or domain administrator will need to add these records to your domain's DNS settings:
TXT Record:
Host/Name: @ (or leave blank, depending on your provider)
Value: [The mandrill_verify value provided by support]
CNAME Record 1:
Name: mte1._domainkey.[yourdomain.com]
Value: dkim1.mandrillapp.com
CNAME Record 2:
Name: mte2._domainkey.[yourdomain.com]
Value: dkim2.mandrillapp.com
⚠️ Important: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate fully.
Step 3: Notify Support When Records Are Added
Once your IT team confirms that the DNS records have been added, reply to your support ticket to let them know. Do not skip this step - verification will not begin until you confirm the records are in place.
Step 4: Add the custom domain email sender in your CRM
Once your IT team confirms that the DNS records have been added, go to the OUTGOING SERVER CRM setting and add the email in the "from email" field.
Step 5: Complete Email Verification (If Required)
Support may send a verification email to your address. If you receive an email from "Mandrill Client Services," this is the correct verification email.
Click the verification link in that email to complete the domain authentication process.
💡 Tip: The verification link should only verify your email address without requiring you to create an account or log in to external services.
Step 6: Refresh Your Browser
After verification is complete, you may need to refresh your browser or log out and back into Dazos for the changes to take effect.
Verification / Expected Result
After successful domain verification:
Your domain status will show as "Verified" in the system.
DKIM and DMARC settings will display as valid
When composing emails in Dazos, the "From" field will default to your email address.
Recipients will see emails coming from your address instead of [email protected]
Troubleshooting / Common Issues
Domain Still Shows "Requires Verification":
Verify that all three DNS records were added correctly.
Wait up to 48 hours for DNS propagation.
Check that the TXT verification record remains in your DNS settings
Verification Email Asking for Login:
Contact support for assistance - the verification link should not require external account creation
Support can use alternative verification methods if needed
Emails Still Showing [email protected]:
Clear your browser cache and refresh the page.
Log out and back into Dazos.
Allow a few minutes for the system to refresh after verification
Important Notes
⚠️ Keep DNS Records Active: The TXT verification record must remain in your DNS settings permanently for domain verification to persist.
✅ Domain-Wide Authentication: Once verified, the authentication applies to all email sent from your domain within Dazos, including manual emails and automated workflows.
💡 Multiple Users: All users with email addresses on your verified domain will be able to send emails from their own addresses.
