How to Set Up Automatic Lead-to-Account Conversion in iConnect (CRM)

The iConnect AI Agent automatically captures new enquiries and creates them as Leads in the CRM. Until now, every Lead created by the agent had to be reviewed and converted to an Account manually using the "Convert Lead" button.

1. Who Can Use This Feature

  • This feature is configured by administrators from the AI Agent Settings screen.

  • You need access to the CRM Settings area and the iConnect (AI Agent) configuration to set it up.

2. Key Terms

  • All Conditions: Every condition you list here must be met for the Lead to qualify.

  • Any Conditions: At least one of the conditions listed here must be met.

  • Auto-Conversion: Turning a qualifying Lead into an Account (with its Contact and Opportunity) automatically, without a person clicking "Convert Lead".

3. How to Configure Auto-Conversion

Step 1: Open the AI Agent Settings

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon at the bottom of the left sidebar to open CRM Settings.

  2. In the settings list on the right, open the Integrations group.

  3. Click AI Agent Settings. The Agent Configuration screen opens with the iConnect Agent tab selected.

Step 2: Set the iConnect Type to "Leads" The Auto-Conversion Rules section is only available when iConnect is set to work with Leads.

  1. In the Select iConnect Type box, choose Leads.

⚠️ Note: If you select "Account/Opportunity/VOB" instead, the Auto-Conversion Rules section is hidden, because that mode does not create Leads.

Step 3: Build Your Conversion Rules With the type set to Leads, scroll down to the Auto-Conversion Rules card. It contains a master on/off switch, two condition groups (All Conditions and Any Conditions), and a Save button.

  1. Under All Conditions or Any Conditions, click + Add Condition. A condition row will appear.

  2. Choose a Lead field from the first dropdown (for example, Lead Source).

  3. Choose an operator from the second dropdown (for example, "is").

  4. Enter or select the value the field should match (for example, Self).

  1. Use + Add Condition again to add more rows. Conditions placed under "All Conditions" must all be satisfied; conditions under "Any Conditions" qualify the Lead if at least one of them is satisfied.

  2. Use the red trash icon on a row to remove it.

💡 Tip: Keep your rules specific. Broad rules (or no conditions) can convert more Leads than you intend.

Step 4: Enable the Feature and Save

  1. Turn ON the Enable automatic Lead → Account conversion switch.

  2. Click Save Rules. Your conditions and the on/off setting are saved for this account.

4. What Happens After You Save

Once the feature is enabled and saved, every time the iConnect agent creates a new Lead or updates an existing Lead:

  • The Lead is checked against your conditions.

  • If it matches, the Lead is automatically converted to an Account, together with a Contact and an Opportunity, using your existing Convert Lead settings.

  • Any notes and follow-up activity are attached to the new Contact.

  • If it does not match, the Lead stays as a Lead - exactly as before this feature existed.

  • A Lead that has already been converted is never converted a second time.

5. Turning the Feature Off

To stop automatic conversion at any time, return to the Auto-Conversion Rules panel, switch OFF Enable automatic Lead → Account conversion, and click Save Rules.

Your saved conditions are kept, so you can re-enable the feature later without rebuilding them.

6. Important Notes

  • The feature is OFF by default for every account. Nothing changes until an administrator turns it on and saves at least one rule.

  • Auto-conversion uses the same conversion process as the manual "Convert Lead" button, so the resulting Account, Contact, and Opportunity follow your account's existing Convert Lead settings.

  • This setting applies to the Leads iConnect type only. It does not affect the Account / Opportunity / VOB mode.

  • Each account is configured independently - enabling it for one account does not affect any other.
