How to Connect IQ to Lightning Step EMR (IQ)

Overview

This guide explains how to connect Dazos IQ to an existing LightningStep EMR system. Once connected, IQ will sync billing-related data with LightningStep in real time through a bi-directional integration.

Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • An authorized admin user in IQ with Admin/Configuration role access

  • LightningStep Access ID and related authentication keys

  • Administrative access to both IQ and LightningStep systems

Steps

1. Navigate to EMR Settings

In IQ, go to Administration → EMR Settings → LightningStep.

⚠️ Note: Only users with Admin/Configuration roles can access this section.

2. Add LightningStep Account

Click Add Account and enter the required LightningStep keys to establish the connection.

You'll need to provide:

  • Access ID

  • Related authentication keys provided by LightningStep

3. Configure Field Mapping

Click Add EMR mapping entities to map CRM fields to LightningStep fields.

This step is required for the integration to work end-to-end and ensures data flows correctly between both systems.

4. Confirm Connection and Set Up Sync Settings

Confirm the connection is active and configure:

  • Historical data pull settings

  • Ongoing sync settings from the LightningStep settings page

Verification / Expected Result

Once setup is complete:

  • The connection status should show as active

  • Billing data will sync between IQ and LightningStep in real time

  • You can use IQ's claim scrubbing and submission tools to reduce denials and speed reimbursement

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

  • Cannot access EMR Settings: Verify you have Admin/Configuration role permissions in IQ

  • Connection fails: Double-check that LightningStep credentials are correct and properly entered

  • Data not syncing: Ensure field mapping entities have been properly configured
