When to Use This Article
Read this article if you have disabled a module for a role (for example, Admissions Rep) and are wondering why the matching ribbon tab at the top of an Intake Opportunity record is still visible to users in that role.
Commonly affected modules include: UR Auth, Daily Census, Campaigns, Treatment Plan, and Bed Board.
How Role Permissions Affect Module Visibility

Disabling a module for a role in Settings → CRM Settings → User Management → Roles removes that module from the left-hand sidebar for users in that role. This works as expected.
Intake Opportunity Ribbon Tabs
The ribbon tabs that appear across the top of an Intake Opportunity record are controlled separately. Disabling a module in role settings does not automatically hide its corresponding ribbon tab inside the Intake Opportunity view.
After a recent engineering update, the behavior is as follows:
Ribbon tabs for disabled modules remain visible to users in the restricted role.
When a user in that role opens one of those tabs, the tab will not load or display any data. The tab appears, but the content inside it is empty.

Why the Tabs Are Still Visible
Full tab hiding from the Intake Opportunity ribbon based on role permissions has not yet been implemented. The current engineering fix prevents restricted users from accessing any data through those tabs, but the tabs themselves remain visible in the ribbon. Hiding the tabs entirely is a known gap that has been logged as a feature request for the product team to address in a future update.
⚠️ Note: This is the current intended behavior — restricted users will see the tab but will not be able to view any records or information within it.

💡 Tip: Administrators always see all modules and ribbon tabs regardless of role settings.
Tips & Notes
✅ Best Practice: If data confidentiality is a concern, be aware that while restricted users cannot view any data inside a disabled-module tab, the tab label itself is still visible. Communicate this limitation to your team as needed.
⚠️ Note: If a user was already logged in when you changed their role settings, they may need to log out and back in before the updated permissions take effect.
